How do I put a pic in my sig line??

I think I know how to do it, but could someone rung through it again.

There is a twist though. The pic I want to use is a GIF I have in my profile page here on Lit:

See the cool penguin? I believe, IIRC, that the only way to put a pic in my sig is to reference the URL for the file. I know that pic is stored here on Lit because I can se the URL when it loads. But the URL is so long and goes by so fast that I can't copy it down and Internet Exploder won't let me cut and paste it. Nor can I open it in another window. Netscape used to let me mouse over something and it would give me the URL but apparently IE is brain damaged in that regard.

Help? How do I do this?

Can't do that; I get "You are not logged in or you do not have permission to access this page" yada, yada.

Once we get this under control, could you answer a question about vBulletin? What language do you use to develop in?

Thanks, the URL seems right as when I click on it I see the GIF displayed, but as you can see it isn't displaying in my sig.

I noticed in that portion of my "Edit profile" page that it says " code is OFF", and I do not see any option anywhere for turning that on. Is that something I have to ask for, or am I glossing over it somewhere, or is it unrelated? Thanks

i see why now , they dont allow the tag in signatures so i guess there not allowing pics in sigs.

Cut and paste this:

into your signature line.

You need to use the HTML image tag instead of the vB code when "IMG command is off"

To get the URL of a picture in IE5 or later, right click and select "properties" you can highlight and copy the URL from the properties dialogue.

Jailbait the problem with your picture is the URL is not properly formted

you have

http://www.freeavatars.netvpimages/hotfemales/fhhd113.gif

I think you need

http://www.freeavatars.net/vpimages/hotfemales/fhhd113.gif

Notice the extra "/" before vpimages.


Which should give you the follwoing image on your signature.
