How do I know if my story has been published? Will I be sent an e-mail? Or will I just have to search for it. Why would a story get sent back to you, and also, will they change the category if they feel it doesn't fit?

It will show up in the New section under Stories.

If it gets rejected, I think it shows up on your Submissions page, where you went to submit it. Not sure, never had one rejected (yet).

Not sure about category. Others might know.

Hey DQ, and welcome to the AH.

You only know if your story's been published by looking on the new stories list, or by looking in your profile. Sometimes you get a nice little stream of feedback as well to notify you .

They may change the category if they don't feel it's appropriate, although I've never had that happen to me. I think, as a rule, they trust you.

A story might get rejected on grounds of breaking one of Lit's content rules (bestiality, under-age sex, etc) or on grounds of poor spelling/grammar. Just make sure it's proof-read (at least by you!) and divided into nicely sized paragraphs and you should be fine.

Go to the place where you went to submit your story. That's the easiest way to find out of it's approved or rejected.
