How do I get a story published?

I've written a story and submitted it over three weeks ago. Nothing heard. Sent an email after two weeks asking WTF (in a nice sort of way)....nothing heard.

What do I have to do to get it published - or at least an acknowledgement to say that its crap, or will take another year, or something!? Any ideas, anyone?

You have to make sure your story is listed as "Pending". If you go in and fiddle with it, it might say "In Progress" (or something like that--it's been a while, someone correct me if I'm getting the terms wrong). Furthermore, every time you go in and fiddle with it, it gets kicked back to the bottom of the queue. So, if you've been clicking on your submission every day or so, that's the reason: that counts as fiddling. Leave it alone for a week and then ask what's going on.

...Of course, if you have left it alone for three weeks and there's been no response, then I dunno.
