I put a description on my story that wasn't very well thought out, and now I'm not quite getting the views I'd like. Is it written in stone, or can I change it (if so, how)?

You can edit the description in the same way that you edit any other part of the story.

  • Start a new submission
  • In "Title" use the same title ( or as much as will fit ) as your original story/chapter + something like *EDIT*
  • Select the same category, and fill in the keywords with placeholders. They don't matter.
  • In the description field, put your new description.
  • In the "Notes" field, say that this is an edit of an existing submission's description line. It can't hurt to reference the Lit ID# of the story ( the numbers at the end of the url in your browser window when you view the first page of your story ) to avoid any question about what story/chapter you're editing. Doesn't hurt to put the new description here as well.
  • In the "story text" field, just copy/paste the "Notes" field. This is just a placeholder to pass the check that you added story text.
  • Preview and submit as you would a new story/chapter

The same general process applies to requesting a category change, keyword changes, title changes, etc. Just substitute the appropriate section and fill in everything else with placeholders, saying what you want to change in the "Notes" field.

Ditto for story text, except you actually upload/paste the entire edited story/chapter in the "story text" field.

Approval of edits is subject to the same wait time in the queue as for a new story. I have seen edits go through a lot quicker -- and in bulk -- than new stories quite often, though.

Unless you specifically request it, your votes/views/comments will remain the same, and it won't appear on the NEW page. The changes you requested will be applied to the original submission.

You can ask Laurel, and she'll sometimes take care of it that way, but this is the official Literotica editing method. A bit too involved, but you get used to it after you've done it a couple of times :D
