I have a revision of a story that was rejected for technical reasons.

Should I edit the story where it is at in submissions or totally re-submit the story?

Aslo, LOL, I don't know what the guidelines are for "cum" vs "come".

Thanks!

Edit the story, correct the problems and resubmit by deleting your original submission and replacing it with the edited text. It will be reviewed again and posted if it meets standards.

It does not matter how or where you edit it, only that you do.

Come or cum are both acceptable, your story was not rejected for that word.

(cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmmmmmiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnng
is not acceptable.

Do you know whether the technical problems were formatting or for grammar and spelling?

If the problem was formatting, my how-to essay on checking your story formating might be of use: http://www.literotica.com/stories/showstory.php?id=57781

Once a story is rejected, it should disappear from your submissions page after a few days, so just resubmit from scratch and mention in the comments section that it is a revised version of a rejected story.

Thanks for the link. I appreciate it :)

Here's another question: I have been frustrated trying to look up individual authors at the Members List. There has to be a way for me to do a search instead of wading through the endless lists x number of members at a time. What am I not seeing?

On the main stories page, you will find a link for "search stories". From that link, you may search by Author, Title, or Keyword.

Rejected for Formatting. New System in Place?

I recently had a story rejected with the comment: "Good story" and then the stated problem was a formatting issue dealing with line feeds between 'graphs.

I'll admit, with my loss of MS Word 2002 and my inability to afford MS Word 2003, I've used both Open Office 2.x and a professional programmer's text editor UltraEdit 32 and each time since I've held my breath that the story comes out right in the preview.

I read Weird Harold's excellent tutorial on format testing BUT then read the submission guidelines that expressly bans HTML unless it is commented in the comment box - which I've NEVER had to do before.

So:

1. Is there a new script running that requires a more stringent creation process on my part?

2. Is there a DEFINITIVE How To on story formatting for Lit? What I had used on 36 or so of my stories is a macro to use with MS Word 97 to format for alt.sex.stories.moderated but now...(well see above). I.E., if I use a text editor, what do I do with word wrap and do I paste (into the submissions window) a DOS formatted story or a UNIX formatted story (the difference is in how hard returns or line breaks are dealt with)?

I suspect a software change on the site...I'd just like to know the "deal" <smile>

Thanks

Jubal
