How do I edit an already published story?

This article says "submit the new version using the same method you submitted the previous one (as a new story)". I just want to confirm that I have to create a new story and copy/paste the existing story with the changes that I want. Even if I don't want to change anything in the story, just the category? Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I don't want to spam the site with duplicates if I misunderstood the directions.

Also, follow up question, if I am correct in assuming that I have to create a new story, what happens with the old one? Does it get deleted from the public view as well as from my panel? Or will it remain as a duplicate in "My Stories"?

For edits like the title and tags, you don't include the whole text, just describe what you want changed. Presumably it works the same way with category changes.

This makes sense, because it means Laurel doesn't have to review the entire story again. When I changed a story tag a while ago, it was approved within a few days.

Quoting another part of the publishing guide:
"If you need to change the Title, Category, or Description of your published story, please follow the instructions found in the FAQ question titled I’ve edited my story and want to replace the published version with a new edit. How do I do that? Let us know what changes you are making to the story (Title, Category, or Description) in the Author’s Note field on the submission page before submitting the edit."
If there are no edits to the text, just leave that part blank and put your requested changes in the notes.
There will not be any duplicates.
