How do I delete these threads that are just doormat? I want to delete pretty much all but maybe 5.

I don't think you can delete them. You can edit your posts there to 5 periods (.....) but that won't hide your posts if someone else quoted them. There are squillions of dormant threads around here. Why are you so concerned about yours?

To have them deleted completely you'll probably have to pm Manu or Laurel, the site administrators. They have quite a workload as it is though, so unless you have a good reason for your request, it may be that editing your posts is all you can do.

Other than asking a mod, you can't.

You can edit them to -deleted- or 5 symbols or something (enough to meet the forum minimum char rule), but if you've been quoted in the thread, it's stuck there.

Again, unless you get a mod to delete it.

I don't know what "just doormat" threads are, but if you mean threads that are dormant or inactive, the answer is:

You don't delete them or have them deleted. Threads go dormant and die as a matter of course, and asking for them to be removed just because they're not getting additional posts would do more harm than good by creating a bunch of extra work for our volunteer moderators and/or admins.

So, unless you need your threads to be locked or removed AND you can't satisfy that need by editing your posts in those threads, you should just leave them alone and forget about them. Unless you have a troll or stalker, chances are, everyone else here will forget about those threads as well.

The same goes for removing your posts and username/account. If they're not doing any real harm and you want to forget them or leave the site, you should edit the problematic post(s) and just walk away. No deletion, mod or admin action is necessary.

If we COULD delete some threads, though, it would clean the place up a WHOLE lot...
