How do I change a BMP in to a JPG?????

Ok now I know how to change a JPG to a BMP but the avatars only let you upload JPGs and i needed to fix a JPG that I downloaded so it would be 150 by 150 pixles but it said that it only uploads JPGs and GIFs and i had to transform it to a BMP so i could fix it but now how do i transform it in to a JPG or a GIF? Pleeeeeeeeezzzzz respond i really need this help!

open your bmp click in "save as" then choose 'jpg'

What program are you using?

What Jailbait said is essentially correct, but some programs require that you "Export" to some file types instead of giving you the option to "Save As."

(Any program that can open JPeG format can save in that format -- even if it defaults to BMP normally.)
