Help! I am tired of snot nosed "editors" here rejecting stories for the most ridiculous reasons. Does anyone know how to cancel my account? Help please. They don't seem to have an obvious way to cancel the profile. Thanks

I don't think you need to cancel your account. Just go away.

I suspect you're over-reacting. There is a single site editor, who also owns Literotica (so not the brightest move to flame as you have). There are half a dozen or so generic reasons for rejection, either grammar based or content based.

If you pay attention to the questions being asked, and answer them honestly in the context of your story, you might be able to figure out what's acceptable, what's not.

If you're not prepared to act like a mature adult, you can terminate your account by doing this (from the FAQs):

How do I close my Literotica account?

You have every right to remove yourself from the site at any time for any reason. If you feel comfortable doing so, we'd appreciate knowing the reason(s) for your decision. We strive to improve Literotica ever day, and your comments can help us mend things that might need mending.

As a security measure and to make sure that the you are the one closing the account, to remove your account you must log in to your profile.

Click "New Story" in the top header menu.

Choose "New Story".

Make the title "REMOVE MEMBERSHIP".

Choose any category (it doesn't matter - this will not be posted publicly).

In the "Story Text" field, request that your membership be terminated.

Then hit SUBMIT at the bottom of the forum.

All story, poem, and illustration submissions you have made to the site will be removed with your account. Be aware that we do not store site submission data - including votes, comments, and the text itself. Once it is deleted from our servers, we cannot restore it.

Per our Forum Rules, we do not remove forum posts except in extreme circumstances - though you can delete the contents of the posts yourself. If you have posts you would like removed, please do so before you send the above request, as it will be impossible for you to edit them once your account is deleted.

Sorry to tell you, but you have to contact the "snot nosed editor" to do that. Assuming you've got PMs (private messages) turned on, message "Laurel," the sole submissions editor here and site owner directly. Good luck with that.

You’ve had eight stories published. Five in 2016 and three in 2019. I would have thought you would know what is and isn’t acceptable for publication. Admittedly the stock reasons for refusal aren’t always clear but you can generally work out what’s the problem.

If you want your story published then find a way to get your point across in a different way. I had a story rejected for gratuitous violence. I rewrote the offending part in a way that got across my original point but with a different form of words. I was happy with the end result, satisfied the changes didn’t harm the story, it was published.

Try it. You may be surprised how easy it is. If, on the other hand, you think you’re perfect then give up.

Just wanted to agree with your comment. It doesn't happen often, but when it does . . . if the story means that much to me or if its one I enjoyed writing I'll put it aside and then go back to it a day or so later and re-write the offending part using different words or phrasing but still basically getting my idea across, before resubmitting.
Sometimes its difficult to figure out what exactly was wrong, but if you're polite, nonabusive and earnest in your inquiry Laurel is typically willing and eager to help you to identify and resolve the problem.

I've had a story sent back because allegedly the punctuation on speech wasn't correct and again because of 'spacing' between paragraphs. I use Grammarly prime and doubt that either was the case and Grammarly found no faults when I tried to re-edit. Even though it's annoying I wouldn't be insulting, however, Literotica lately seem to be requiring a level of writing standard that is unreasonable considering that the people posting are writing for fun, entertainment and not profit and are not professional writers. Some of the reasons have seemed petty and I do understand your frustration.

Post three paragraphs from your rejected story, to include several examples of dialogue, to see if we can determine what set off the rejection.

You haven't had a story posted since 2014. I checked two of those stories (2014 & 2012) and both had major errors in dialogue punctuation. There were gaps between the paragraphs that exceed the normal.

Every author here makes mistakes, I certainly do. But the number of mistakes I saw were far in excess of anything reasonable. They were constant and indicated a complete lack of understanding about dialogue punctuation. I'm surprised those older stories got through.

When someone like Laurel tells you something is wrong with your writing, you might listen and go study the issue first before whining

Edit: PS this was not directed at Keith. Removed his post.

That's a rather...

That is a rather self-defeating move! I've had quite a few returned, with how to fix the issue so as to get them posted. While I'm a dummy, I like to think that it will improve my writing in the long run (fingers crossed) My advice suck it up and sort it out. :rose: L and M are fair in my opinion.
