How do I attach a pic inside a PM?

technical aspects are not my strong suit when it comes to interacting with a
computer, so any guidance is appreciated.

You can't. But, you can hotlink a picture that resides on another site or even here at lit.

You can only attach pictures to posts in a thread. But once you do, you can hot link to that picture any time.

Hot Linking Pictures...

From within Lit...

If you have a picture you want to include in a PM in your Attachments here at lit, go to UserCP click on manage attachments and locate the picture. Click on the link that Lit provides and copy the link from the address bar.

Now in the PM click on the Image icon - little picture icon - and past the link address you just copied into the dialog box that appears. Click OK and shazam there is now a line of code in you PM text.

It should look like this...

And will display like this...

If it resides at another site, get the URL of the image and repeat the steps above except the looking up the link address at lit.

Click the picture icon and paste in the url of the image...

It will look like this...

and display like this...

http://connorgmadison.com/index_files/image7751.jpg
