A thread with much technical discussion of why the board may be slower than it could be.

The hardly any new threads I think is partly a result of the slow during busy times, and people getting frustrated by long waits and error messages. (remember the good old days of 505 errors? Same level of frustration building now over server delays.)


The interaction, that's just 'cause nobody but us nightowls are awake right now. It will pick up again in about another 2 hours.

I think most people have the same problem. I have a 2meg broadband link and it still times out etc.

Believe, though, that the issue is being addressed and ultimately we're not asked to pay for this fabulous site so can't grumble too much!

i've noticed this little phenomonem in all the forums lately... and was wondering what the hell was up...

Used to get on here and barely be able to keep up with all the posts. Now i jump on the same amount - expect to be snowed keeping up with everything i missed due to being in oz and being way ahead in time zones than everyone else, and lately have been finding bugger all. I hate sitting around twiddling my thumbs!
