How can you tell if someone is online here now?

Well you can see a small green light against the name if the person is online
however if a member decides to hide is online status the light will not be illuminated but on main board you can check out if a person is online or not

Well i don't know if you could nudge a person but you could send him a pm and if he wishes to he will respond back to you

There is also the function buddy list which also has a differentiation between online and offline.
