The economy sucks, Medicaid is bankrupt, the financial system is still reeling from Enron and Worldcom, consumer confidence is at a decade low and Greenspan's about to retire.

And he wants to go to war, not to find the 9.11 mastermind, but for reasons known only to him.

How do we stop this madness? Can we vote him out? Can we have him impeached?

Discuss.

Things are in the shape they are in now due to the fuck up that was in office before him.

Hmm, I thought the economy was a lot better before.

Maybe I'm mistaken.

Whata guy.
Okay, so you take the place of a soldier going to Iraq so that boy can stay home.

Deal?

Support tax cuts. I'm sure that would show the folly of his positions and lead to his certain defeat in the next election.

Maybe get a law passed making it illegal to be a total dumb ass as president...

notice he has been laying low these days...

Karl Rove may be a nazi

But he aint stupid...:p

Bad Kitty is right. The economy was taking a down turn before Clinton left office.

Here is a link as to why Bush wants the world to help him stop Saddam.

State Department

Only partially true.

1) Bush inherited a budget surplus from Clinton's administration. Now, the GAO is predicting a significant deficit for this fiscal year.
2) Yes, he inherited a recession, but under his guidance he's also managed to make it the longest recession since WWII. I'd point out also that O'Neill quit the Cabinet after being disenfranchised at Bush's inability to put together a fiscally sound economic package.
3) WorldCom was a 2001 event. Rather than give the SEC and FASB boards more teeth with which to censure companies found guilty of playing with the numbers, he left Pitt to dangle in the wind. Who thinks the SEC has credible oversight powers now?

Interesting link. Thanks for finding and posting it.

Sure, I found it very interesting. Glad to be of help. Just looky at all the resolutions that Saddam has turned his nose up at. And folks say we are "rushing" to war. It's long, but good.
How many times were the words, condemns, unconditionally accept, comply, must do this or that, used? All very interesting.

'Course, the naysayers shall point out that this is from the State Dept's website. I point out to them that all those resolutions and the language are from the UN.

**edited to finish a sentence I left hanging**;)

The economy is going in the toilet and he wants to have an unlimited expense account to deal with saddam and his biological weapons that we invented.

Neat huh....

They have estimated that this invasion will cost the american taxpayers up to 1 trillion dollars over probably ten years.

Cutting taxes, and overspending....sounds like reaganomics to me.

You can get him out of office by voting for someone else.

You spout shite.

The global recession started before Bush was in power, and not long after he became president, 9/11 happened.

So punk, tell me what BUSH did to cause the economy problems?

See my response #2 to BadKitty's post.

And if you were clued up you'd see the economy is picking up.

Really? I work in finance and interact with Wall Street on a daily basis.

Show me the data that's pointing to a recovery. Hell, show me any leading indicator that suggests this. Or share whatever it is you're smoking. It's some really good shitte.

Troops have already been deployed. What are you doing on Literotica?

I love the people that still want to blame everything in the world on President Clinton....lol

Dont you realize and havent you figured out yet that this guy exited the white house as the most popular sitting president this country ever saw, and that NOTHING sticks to him. He is like Teflon.

I'm surprised you dont blame JFK's assasination on him too.

If President Clinton could run for office again, I would vote for him twice.

I'm not blaming the economic downturn that started while Clinton was in office on him. Hell, it's economics. There will always be ups and downs. And 9/11 did not help the start of Bush's term, not the least of which was economically.

I don't know how exactly you can make this claim.

Between 9/11 and Enron, etc., saying that Bush caused the mess we're in is absurd. We can debate all day long about whether or not he's taking positive steps to get us out of this hole, but he didn't put us in it.

I forgot to mention the death of Habeas Corpus

Domestic Security Enhancement Act of 2003 ("Patriot II")

Some highlights of the proposed act:

Increases control over immigrants. The proposed act would expand the control of the Justice Department over immigration matters, including expedited deportation. It would criminalize many regulatory violations and remove judicial discretion from some immigration rulings.

What happened to my America, land of the free, home of the brave?

Look at an Ibbitson chart, or watch CNBC - it's been well quoted. If I find the link to the governmental office web site that identifies recession peaks and valleys, as a lagging indicator, i'll post it here.

I'm not saying he put us in it. That would be absurd.

But as president, what has he done to pull us out of it? Riddle me this. Specifics, please.
