HOW CAn I shave w/o getting gross bumps and ingrown hairs??

Sounds to me like maybe you are shaving too hard if you are bleeding!! After you shave try putting lotion for sensitive skin on the area.

Magic is great stuff and then follow it up with Bikini Zone (an anti-bump stuff for the bikini zone) for the first few days. You should be able to buy both of those at Walmart or other such places.

I use hair wax it so much easier and after a while the hair will not grow back as bad. But Then what else is nair but make sure you use it on a patch before you do the whole thing just in case you have a reaction...

There have been several threads on where to buy Magic Lotion and how to use it. You will find it in the men's shaving product section with items for African Americans. It is a product meant for beards. You can find it at Target or Walmart as well as on the web.

I asked some exotic dancer friends of mine the same question about ingrown hairs and such. Their idea was to shave with the grain not against it and use mouthwash afterwords as a disinfectant. I tried it and have had very little trouble after taking their advise. Kim@mumples.com

Witch Hazel Works

I am clean shaven, and I use nothing but witch hazel. It is a clear, natural liquid (make sure you don't get the stuff with alcohol in it! It'll burn!), and it is also a natural astrigent. It is also the primary ingredient in *gak!* hemerriod pads (I do not know this by using them, however ). Just apply to a rag right after shaving, and dab the area liberally. And go with the grain when shaving. Witch hazel can be found at just about any drug store and it's CHEAP.

Witch hazel works well and going with the grain helps. It makes the area in question not so prone to ingrown hairs. Make sure you have the skin pulled taut and sometimes it takes a couple of times of nice smooth strokes to remove the hair as you may require. Be careful and don't do it in a hurry. I know as I speak from experience!!!

Nope, spatula, a wash cloth won't remove the hair. If you try to rub it off with the cloth, you will tear your skin up.

Hey CB let us know how it went won't you. I'm worried now that you have torn skin down there.

After hearing that convo I'm not sure if I'm happy or sad that this stuff isn't avalible "Down Under".

Oh and getting your partner to do it is great but, not everyone that shaves has a partner do they? I do it in the shower, and I do it without creams or lotions, they seem to affect me, and I have no troubles at all.

Just thought I would let you all know I went with the grain today, must admit that it's a faster shave and it's actually smoother.

unfortunately I didn't notice a CUT DOWN THERE- OUCH! Umm otherwise it went great, I normally use hot wax on my arms- and I tried Magic there too. Smooth as a baby's bum. Oh my God don't get it on cuts... Don't get it on cuts. EVER. I mean it. I can't say it often enough.

Now you tell us not to put it on cuts........grrr arrrgghhh.
