I plan to write a story in close collaboration with another Lit user. Of course the story itself will make the fact clear that we worked on it together, but can the story, once approved, appear on the "Stories/Poems" tabs of two users? On page 1 line 2 of the story page, where there is normally ONE author URL link, could there be two?

To the best of my knowledge you can't get it to appear on two different authors' pages. You can create an account for your collaboration with a username like "Gertrude_and_Heathcliff" (hats off to Red Skelton) and publish the story under that account.

It might be hard to get the attention of any following that either of you might already have.

A separate combined account for those works. Sabb and I do it here with the Shabbu account.

Do it like I've done, three times now:

First, decide whose account will run the full story.

Then, the collaborator clones the first page and submits that to their own account with - and this is the important bit - a link to the second page of the whole story at the end of it.

Coordinate both submissions so they go in at the same time, with an identical Note to the Editor telling Laurel what's going on, and she will join them together.

The advantage of doing it this way is that both authors will stream their separate fan groups to the story. The disadvantage of a new "joint account name" is that no-one will know who it is - unless you're like KeithD and his collaborator and put volume through it and get established as a "new" writer.

I do it all the time and I put "Cowritten by..." and where it says the author's name, it has a link to that author's profile.

Do you want me to put down how to put a link to another author's profile assuming you want to go that route?

Yes, thank you. Don

Use this:

<a href="https://www.literotica.com/stories/memberpage.php?uid=3652043&page=submissions">SueDanym</a>

Replace the link with the link of the author author. Do the same thing with the name.

When you're submitting a story, make sure to check in the preview that the link works and takes you to the other author's profile. If it works in preview, then it'll work in the final story when approved.
