How Bernie Sanders's Socialism Funds Massive Income Inequality

The next time Bernie Sanders does a sit-down interview with a major news anchor, he should be asked one simple question: why don’t you ever mention the huge one-percenter salaries and pensions given to government bureaucrats who administer socialist programs?

After all, Bernie Sanders loves to rant against big corporations and Wall Street billionaires. His solution is to grow government, create more bureaucracy, hire more bureaucrats, and secretly give more bonuses to socialist bureaucrats. Today there are huge bonuses given to those who administer the hard-earned dollars of America’s middle class and poor workers. While many are familiar with the $90,000 bonus given to the former TSA security chief, even after his TSA agents failed to detect 95% of the weapons and bombs brought through airports to test detection procedures last year, there are many people, mostly in education, who receive salaries so large they are difficult to believe.

And because they are large, those who sing from the liberal socialist songbook that the rich are only those who run corporations or profit on Wall Street, the liberally biased media absolutely refuse to report on this transfer of wealth to the socialist class, particularly during an election year.

Examples abound. When the city of Stockton, Calif. filed for bankruptcy, the judge in charge of the bankruptcy, who was accused of persecuting government union employees, found that the fire engines of Stockton had been allowed to deteriorate to such an extent that every time a fire engine went out on a call, it had to be accompanied by a wrecker. This was, apparently, because fire department administrators had taken money out of the maintenance fund and given it to themselves as “other pay.” In 2012, Ronald L. Hittle, the fire chief, received regular pay of $132,000 but received “other pay” of $118,000 bringing his total for 2012 to $323,000. Stockton’s community development director, whose job description reminds one of President Obama’s career as a community organizer, had regular pay of $133,437 and “other pay” of $291,879, bringing his 2012 total pay to $458,156.

Apparently, ever since President Obama opened the spigot on national debt, the entire nation is on a binge to over-pay public servants. And since the public administrators, who control the budgets, have no accountability, they have given themselves big pay increases to the detriment of public safety, health, and education. And these three things are supposed to be the very reason we have government: to preserve public safety, health, and education.

government is never the solution. people go into government to avoid responsibility and being accountable. government workers are mentally defective

Are you stupid enough to think those bonuses are in line with what 1%ers make?

Are you stupid enough to think those bonuses are in line with what 1%ers make?

The 1% has an income cutoff at something like $450k. So yeah, some of those examples might be in line with what the very lowest end of 1%-ers make. People don't generally begrudge those people their salaries, they just think they ought to be able to afford to chip in more in taxes.

Ppl's real beef is with he top .1%. But that starts to look like math and is not as bumper sticker friendly.

Deflect deflect, deflect. Another lover of big government.

They are the one-percenters, you dumb fuck.

That aside, government employees' salaries are higher than the private sector and like you, produce nothing. They just drain the wealth of taxpayers.

They lack the mad debating skilz...

:D

They have adopted the South American form of Democracy;

Verbal and physical assault.

The Free Market, business and industry need lots of supervision and rules.

BUT

Those crooked, evil lying bastards can afford it, so raise their taxes and take their profits for them...

I'm in both boats on this one.
Politics are not my forte, but:

My impression is that some conservatives are focusing too much on the little guy and too little on the 1%.

On the other hand the article makes a few good points.
Having worked in large state-owned institutions for many years, I got a first-hand experience of the shortcomings of such "socialist-microcosmoses".

They tend to employ quite a lot of unnecessary managers, bureaucrats and so on who are a lot more interested in covering their own backs and keeping their jobs, than in the well-being of the employees or the public.
I can give heaps of examples on that.

No, economically we, especially those of us who study the Austrian School, understand several things. If you keep your hands off of the economy, no one has to worry about the little guy, he will take care of himself once the economy is established. (Idiots will turn Dickensian as their model of Capitalism ignoring that it occurred in the in-between time of Mercantilism and Agriculture as it transformed into Liberalism and Industry.)

When you take government and use it to manage the economy, especially in the highly subjective name of "fairness" then you begin to reverse the arc of liberty, property and individualism. You then create a system where the most cunning and ruthless can use government to turn themselves into the ruling 1%.

The people who point to the 1% and piss and moan about it are actually the parents of the 1% and they got the irreverent children that they raised instead of the faithful children that they dreamed of...

Puhleeeeeze.

You sound like an naive 18 year old.

The "one percenters" I've known were self-made, hard working people who started with nothing. Contrary to what leftists believe they didn't inherit their wealth, weren't evil, and didn't become rich by taking advantage of others. They employed hundreds of people who in turn supported their families and paid them generous benefits. None employed "unnecessary managers" and generally cared a great deal about their employees.

If by your own admission you worked many years in large state owned institutions you know almost nothing about private industry.

By the way the one percenters bullshit is just another of many leftist catch phrases which deliberately encourage class warfare, jealousy, and divisiveness. It's the philosophy of victimization. People who worry about how much money another man has are losers, and always will be.

What are you talking about?

The Koch brothers? Or Lindsay Lohan? Or "Sir" Allan Sugar who made his fortune by selling cheap quality electronics and so on?

Why should they pay fewer taxes than the rest?

Why would you or anyone else give a shit how much money someone else makes?

Koch Industries employs 60,000 people. How much money do you think they pay in taxes? How much do those employees spend? How many other people earn income from Koch Industries?

Jesus Fuck.

Just applying the same logic:

Why would you or anyone else give a shit how much money government employees make?

And Koch et al's employ all sorts of tax-evasion tactics with their Wallmart employees. Employing them only part-time so that the govt. chips in with benefits (or something like that).
And ExxonMobile or some similar corps. practically polluted and destroyed one or two small towns, with a suspicious increase im the no. of cancer, - without facing any consequences.
And most of them make their money by employing people in China not Americans anyway.

Why should they pay such a small % in taxes, - a lot less than the rest? Are they Royalty or something?
Crony capitalism at it's best.

Jesus Fuck.

"Tax evasion is the illegal evasion of taxes by individuals, corporations, and trusts."

According to you Koch, Walmart, and lots of other companies deliberately violate the law by falsifying their tax returns. In order to do that they employ crooked attorneys and accountants who risk their jobs, imprisonment, and huge penalties for themselves and their employers. What facts do you have to back up that claim, or did you make it up out of thin air?

Corporations are owned by stockholders, and as such have a responsibility to be profitable. Who in their right mind would do everything they could to legally pay as little income tax as possible?

What does that have to do with pollution? What is a "suspicious increase" in the cancer companies have caused. How many examples of that can you name?

"Most of them make money by employing more people in China than the US."
Most of them? Walmart and Koch employ more people in China than the US? You made that up, too.

Spare ten minutes of your life and watch this short video. Maybe you'll learn something.

You started the thread but suddenly don't care about how much people make.

I'm surprised that Ish or AJ hasn't told you that those employers pay no taxes.

.
Don't be too literal about it.
And of course they're doing everything legally, because all these legal loopholes were created by psychopaths, for psychopaths.

Other examples in that line:

The Panama papers, duuh…

Or allowing private donors to sponsor presidential candidates of their choice. You have to be naiive to think that at least half of those donors won't expect some sort of favours in return at one point.

Don't be too literal about the definition of tax evasion? We might as well not take any laws literally.

So private citizens shouldn't be allowed to make donations? You want to dictate how someone spends their money?

Laws were created by psychopaths?

Where do you get this stuff?

You're spewing silly nonsense and deflecting the issue...you failed to answer one question I asked.

You should quietly leave this thread before you make an even bigger fool of yourself. I'm done.
