You might consider confering with others who are invited. There's not much point in getting them a smoothie machine if eight or ten other people have the same idea.

Home Depot or a "housewares" store, like "Linen's and Stuff," might have suggestions or you.

Most homes don't have a food scale -- that might be something to consider -- mine was only $40 or so.
