My friend Lindsay and I were watching Rosemarys Baby a few nights ago, and a story idea came to me . It's not so much like Rosemarys Baby, but something about the setting, a large apartment complex, with many rooms sparked this idea.
The story starts, with a young college girl, let's say 20, 21 years of age. She is from a very wealthy family, both the mother and father. The mother is worth 10's of millions, and the father is a billionaire. And the grandparents are all very wealthy. The mothers family has current European ties.
The parents are suddenly killed in some type of accident, car wreck, plane crash, whatever. This could be an accident, or it might be mysterious events. In any case, the young girl is left with a massive fortune, many homes, business, land, you name it. After weeks of lawyers, estate planners, etc, the young college girl is at her parents estate when a mysterious man shows up. He is a lawyer from somewhere in Europe. He tells the young girl she has inherited a large estate, almost a castle, somewhere in Eastern Europe, Poland, Czech Rep., somewhere like that. It belong to her mother, and had been in her mothers family for hundreds of years. And the lawyer tells the girl she must go as soon as possible to sign papers claiming the property, or it will be seized from her by the local govt. The college girl remembers her mother disappearing at times and her father would tell her that her mother was in Europe tending to family business.
So the girl goes by herself to see about this estate. The journey is long, and it takes her days to get there. She has traveled some before, but mostly with her parents. And is not prepared for what she finds. It's a massive castle, old, scary, but well kept. No one lives there, only services to keep it up and clean. The inside is huge and rambling, with many rooms. But it is the amount of bedrooms that is most curious. There could be 25 or 30 bedrooms. And every bedroom is very different.
Here is where I'd like anyone's input. You might say the house is haunted, but another thought is the house is alive itself. The young college girls starts having sexual encounters, mainly in the bedrooms, but soon all over the house. And the house would have a large basement, almost dungeon like. Lots of ideas there. Some sexual encounters would be loving, others intense. There's no one in the house but her, but she would feel a presence. Sometimes many, sometimes just one. Any thoughts about this story idea?
