You get home early from an overseas trip to find six names, written in delicate script on playing cards, neatly placed at each seat of your dinner room table. All the names are unknown to you, but the additional hand drawn illustrations on the Queen of Diamonds sends a chill through your spine.

Consider me intrigued. How exactly does this story go?

Is the main character married?
Is it something planned out by his significant other?
Who are the women that are on the cards?
What do the cards signify?
What is the illustration of?
What happens after he finds the playing cards?

Not sure yet. It was more of a thought starter, but your questions were great! I realized it was putting too much of an emphasis on genders and relationships, so i broadened the original text to increase its scope.

Well, if you are interested in a brainstorm:

-Wife wants to surprise her husband after his long business trip overseas. The name on each card corresponds to one of the wife's friends, who appear a minute or so after the husband arrives. They are dressed in very sexy elegant clothes. The wife follows out her friends and informs her husband to sit down for a game of strip poker (with a twist). The husband must play her six friends in poker. It is dealers choice with no betting, just worst hand losses.

The loser of each hand must remove a piece of clothing. The husband's goal is to get each of the friends naked before losing all of his clothes. For each woman he gets naked, he will be able to slip out and have five minutes in the bedroom with each to do as he pleases. If he is able to get all the women naked without losing all of his clothes, he will be allowed to choose one woman to join he and his wife for an incredible threesome.

-Main character is a well off single guy who is wrapped up in business. His friends feel bad that while they have solid relationships, their friend never does. They decide to surprise him with six possible women to be set up with. Each woman is ready and willing to date him. However, it would be impractical for him to date all six so his friends tell him that he can only choose one of the cards.

The catch is that each of the women is upstairs waiting to meet him. They have been told that there are five other women vying to be his girlfriend. Each card corresponds to a matching card which is taped to each door the girl is waiting in. The girls will have 20 minutes to impress the main character. They can do anything that they'd like in those twenty minutes: talk, kiss, have sex or sit in silence (whatever floats their boat).

We follow the main character as he meets each of the different women.

-The main character enters his house to find the scene you described. He is confused as to why the cards are laid out on his family's dining table. The main character is married with kids, but is a lack luster husband and father. He is absorbed with his job which keeps him on the road often. To make matters worse, he uses his business travel to hook up with women he meets. Once particular place he often has to visit is Las Vegas, as his company does a lot of business in the city. The main character stays in the casinos and enjoys meeting single women on the casino floor.

What he doesn't realize is his worlds are about to collide. Out steps six women, all of whom the main character has hooked up with in Vegas. The main character had pulled smooth moves and sweet talk to bed each of them and then left them in the dust the next morning. However, these women eventually find each other and seek to get back at the main character. They inform him that they have finally caught him and plan to ruin him for all of the womanizing he has done over the years.

Concerned, the main character frantically tried to work his way out of trouble. He offers the women money in exchange for their silence, which is enough to force a few of the women to back out. However, a few of the women are more hurt by the way they were treated. They don't want his money, they want his love. They eventually work out a deal to become his "road wives". In exchange for their silence, the main character provides them with all that they need financially. When he passes through on business, he deals with his family away from home. Having to tend to the sexual and emotional needs of his "road wives".
