My husband (this is his account) and I entered the HW Lifestyle over two years ago. I've kept a detailed journal that I would like to transcribe into a narrative.

Of course I want to write a true, detailed account of the sexual encounters, but I also want describe how we came to the decision that I would be shared with other men.

A more in depth look at how a "Normal Couple" was drawn into the HW Lifestyle. A story about us as a couple and as individuals, not just the sex. I want to describe how things evolved before I actually started with the first man.

I have no desire to write fictional porn outside the context of a real marriage. We've had very sexy and exciting experiences, but to me a story without understanding us as people is just another story about Fucking. Tons of that already.

I'm concerned about including a few things that I hope to share because they are important for an accurate accounting:

1. My husband is into female feet. Feet are just part of what he likes during foreplay, not a full blown Fetish. He isn't submissive or into humiliation or actively participating. He eventually wanted to watch, photograph and video, but never wanted to be part of the sex.

We know some people find feet disgusting and I don't want people to quit reading. It's a big Part of my husband's enjoyment, but it is far from being his total focus. For the most part it has been part of our foreplay. I have no problem with his affection for my feet.

In fact there are a lot of advantages to being married to a "Foot Lover."

2. I've also had an interracial partner that I am still involved with

3. I experienced light Bondage and BDSM.

4. I have no interest in writing Fictional Porn

5. Fear of writing a boring narrative.

Please give me your input.

This is a subject of interest to me, because I've written several stories along these lines and find it an arousing and interesting subject, even though I've never actually participated in it as a partner or husband.

Questions:

1. When you say "transcribe", do you mean you want to write this narrative yourself with guidance and input from others, or do you want someone to help write it. I think you mean the former, but I'm not sure.

2. Here's some advice about writing a narrative: think through the elements of your story that are most important and most erotic. Focus on those things, and be willing to edit out details that, while true and perhaps of some interest to you and your husband, might be of less interest to readers. Details one might include in a diary shouldn't necessarily be included in a narrative. Since your story actually happened, think through the whole thing rather than just jumping into it and dumping lots of data on the reader.

3. You can write it like a narrative, or like a memoir, or like a diary. Any of them could work, but they make for three very different sorts of stories. But, regardless, keep the concepts of a narrative story in mind as you write.

4. Re the foot fetish: leave it in. It sounds like an important part of your story, and your perspective on your husband's fetish might be interesting.

5. Re writing like a narrative: Include dialogue. If you don't remember it exactly, make it up. Try to stay true to the overall story but don't worry if you have to fictionalize parts of it. The key is a good story, not absolute fidelity to the truth. It's not journalism.

6. Don't start your narrative with a long history/background/data dump. Jump into a scene that illustrates your relationship and introduces the hotwife concept, perhaps in a subtle way: a kinky conversation, your husband discussing a fantasy, something that happened with you and another man, etc.

7. Stick with a POV. Do you want this to be your story or your husband's? It makes a huge difference, and either can work, but it probably will be a better story if told from one point of view. I'm not a big fan of the technique of switching POV chapters in a story like this, because what tends to happen is that you have a lot of repetition -- duplicative coverage of events. I especially don't like switching first person POV. But that's just me, maybe.

Good luck.

Your husband only made one post before you made this one now. Why not create your own account? They are free.

I agree with many of SimonDoom's suggestions.

Definitely include dialog, even if you have to make it up. When I look at a story, with long unbroken stretches of description, I get discouraged and often give up on reading it. Dialog is a nice "break" for the reader. And of course it lets us get to know the people involved much better.

Don't worry about a personal kink turning off some readers (like the foot fetish thing). Everything will turn somebody off. You have to write the story the way it needs to be told. Somebody will love it.

I recommend you use the in media res technique: start off your narrative in the middle of a juicy sex scene. That lets the reader know that there will be plenty of "good stuff." Then your next section can go back to the beginning, explaining how you started and how you get there, after the reader is already hooked. They will be wondering, "Wow, how did she get to this state?" Instead of dry exposition, it will come off as the solution to a mystery.

I don't have a problem with shifting viewpoints. It takes skill, but it can make the story more interesting. And it certainly lets you reveal more about the characters' inner thoughts, when and if you decide they need to be revealed.

Also remember this: why is truth stranger than fiction? Because fiction has to make sense! You may have to "adjust" reality a little to make the writing hang together as a cohesive narrative. Don't be afraid to take a few liberties if they help the story flow.

One final thought: persevere! Writing can be fun, but it can also be tedious. Don't be afraid to take a break if you need to, but also don't be disappointed if you find it to become a grind from time to time.

Good luck! I'm sure your story will be great.

Thank you both for taking time to offer the Great Feedback. I will try to heed to all your suggestions. I am very motivated to write our story from my POV.

I have already started writing the story.

Can you suggest someone who would be willing to tell me if I'm on the right track? I am open to all the editing necessary. I am not an experienced "Story Teller" so I have no problem changing things if necessary. I hope to stay as true to the story as I can but respect the opinions of more experienced authors.

I was hoping to develop a basic understanding of who we are as people before starting with the explicit sex. Maybe it isn't necessary to fully develop character depth before the sex starts? Should I develop us as real characters as the story progresses?

I'd rather not start with explicit sex details, but if that is necessary I will try. To me it just seems shallow to start with graphic sex. I want potential readers to care about us as people, not just two "Twisted Sexual Deviants." :)

It's been an exciting journey for us so far and I hope to eventually write the entire story. I'm sure every couple starts this Lifestyle differently. It took years before I was ready to make his fantasies become reality.

I enjoy being a HW so far. There have only been few "Bumps" in the road but a lot of indecision for both of us. It's a scary experience to be sure, but has thrilled both of us more than either of us expected. I was not expecting that I'd enjoy it as much as he does.

Obviously we want to publish anonymously because it is a true story. We don't want to be identified.

Following this thread as I too am slowly putting together a write up of the times with my wife.

Like you, we were both surprised at how much she enjoyed it.

Lots of good ideas for you here. When I read your post, especially the idea it would evolve into multiple chapter and the foot fetish, it reminded me of another author.

I have no problem with the foot fetish. But I watched another author who probably has a good ten chapters of a story posted that has a rear entry fixation. Bent over the table, chair, couch, ad nauseum. Even when a bed is available it's bent over that. It gets boring after a while. I've done some pre-reads for him and mentioned it, but he just can't seem to help himself. And so be it, it's his kink.

Just a suggestion to mix it up if at all possible. Mixing it up will bring wider readership over a long series. Keeping it all the same will narrow the readers down to those interested in the fetish. That to me would contribute to the boring narration you mentioned you want to avoid.

Just a suggestion as I said. ;)
