You guessed it! Another Mae Travellin' Picture Show! :D I did not get too many shots this time...I was too busy rejuvenating to go about sightseeing! Not to mention the fact that my relatives down there live in BFE! Forced relaxation, it's a terrible world ;)

I am sad though, my amazing harvest moon shots I thought would be so wonderful didn't turn out well at all :( Even with digcams I get bum shots occasionally! Ah well.

So here, for your viewing pleasure (maybe) are some life around the Sonora Desert area in Arizona. Nothing too thrilling, the lizards and roadrunners and snakes wouldn't stay still for me!

~~
A prickly conglomeration...

You post the coolest pics!

Even when they are not of you, you still manage to post breathtakingly beautiful pictures Mae... :)

A bit closer....

The colour on these was amazing. My shots don't even begin to do them justice, but I tried....

This lil fellow was awfully cute! He looks kind of fuzzy and cuddly, but you REALLY wouldn't want to hug him! LOL.

Awww, thank you STP! *smooches* You're such a doll. Still treatin that Lexy good?! Still being treated good by that Lexy?! Ya'll better be!! :)

Out by the desert museum...it was so hot and still that day...

the gathering

Nice picture. When you figure out how to make the digicam take night shots let me know. I have lots of screwed up pictures of black with a little bit of white.

Is it warm enough for you, there? Hope you get recharged while you are out there.

And a wee bit closer, similar shot. The mountains that circle around the area really were beautiful! I want to so much to go climbing and exploring on them! But, it was not meant to pass. My time was too importantly spent with family who's time on this earth is not long anymore. They are more important than any mountain to me!

Actually, I can take really excellent night shots with my cam! It's called turning off the flash and using my tripod! :) There is a 'night' setting on my camera, and I tried to use it with my moon shots, but the problem is it really takes in any light source! So the moon showed up too bright, and the neat backlit mountains and treelines didn't show up at all :( Ah well, I will just have to practice more, right?!

I am already back from my trip, I flew back in last night. It was 95 there yesterday! I was like a lazy lizard the whole time, basking in the sun! Got inspired and did a lil bit of sun-erotica prose, maybe I'll post it once I polish it a little? :) But, otherwise the trip was great. Exactly what I needed. Rejuvenation!

*hugs*

Thanks

I will give mine a try with the tripod and see what I can get. There is no smilie that shows fingers crossed.

We just got rid of our snow here.

Glad to hear that you are feeling rejuvenated. For a while there you seemed really bummed.:D

Mae, you are very welcome :) Thank you too!

And yes, I will forever treat Lexy like the jewel she is, and she always treats me better than I have ever dreamed I would be...Thank you for looking after us! :)

Have a great night!

Beautiful pics. I'm always amazed at how much life can be found in the supposed "deserts" of the world. There are actually very few spots where there is no life, the true desert.

Keep posting, please? :rose: :)

Beautiful pictures Mae. Enjoy your R & R and keep posting please. Did you get any sun while you were there?

Beautiful Desert Pictures

Hi Mae:

Am not new to Lit, but only recently started posting. Your Pics of the Arizona desert are beautiful and extremely well done. Your technique is superb. Being an old photographer and lover of nature, I really appreciate them. You are a talented lady and I might add, a beautiful girl also. Hand on to those pics as the damn developers are stealing our desert. I am from near Las Vegas and when I moved here 10 years ago, there was a lot of desert flowers and wildlife. Now the developers are rapeing the land. Again, thanks for the beautiful pics. Keep up the good work.

JB::)

I have been there and it is beautiful there. So quiet and mystical in ways that few see. You did capture that in the desertscape shot. Good job.:) :)

Great shots Mae! I love going out to the desert there in Arizona, and just chillin'. Never seen purple cactus though. Do you know anything about spitting cactus? They hurt like an MF, when they "attack" you.

hey may where those pics taken in the botanical garden

Well, no....the cactus pics were taken outside near my g'parents house, the desertscape shots were out by the Sonora Desert Museum, a bit south and a bit west from Tucson.

c_l30, I am done with R&R for now! I did get a bit of sun, I forgot how forceful the sun is down there! But I was careful not to get too pink :) Now I just have one more month of chaos before the Big Move! *excited wiggle*

JB: We are raping the land everywhere, desert included. Just remember: 'Earth First! We'll strip mine the other planets later...' (Hopefully ya'll know me well enough to know I take that for the eco-joke it is...heh)

lob, I haven't run into any spitting cactus. Sounds nasty though! Nice to see your ass around again :D

Mae, I don't think we've met yet, but I have to say you have a really incredible eye and I love seeing your stuff. It's really marvelous.

Bum Shots?

Now girl,

Some of your bum shots are beautuful <eg>. Sorry, had to say something. I do understand- I have tried some moon shots with my G1 as well and the outcome is pretty blah compared to seeing it with ones eye.

*shrugging*

Some things were not to be photographed I guess.

And to think you were a puddle jump to my home state Mae......

Ahhhhh, *head back, neck strained* the torture!

Great photos, thanks for sharing!

*soft kiss*

The Sonora Desert Pictures were beautiful succulents, while the throwing shadows pictures were succulently beautiful. Nice Job!

Clever. Couldn't have said it better, but I'll try.
You have such a talent with the camera. I don't know if you've mentioned it before or not, but is your interest in phtography a passing fancy/ hobby, or do you considder the possabilities in a future career? I have a friend who is a Fire Chief in the small hamlet in which I reside. He has a keen interest in photography and has been doing it as a side profession for about 11 years now.

Rambling. That's my m.o..
Great pics. Makes me yearn for dryer climates.

wow! beautiful! i love nature!! you captured it so well....like i had any doubts!! :rose:

Scenery

No pictures of prople in various states of undress. I have a friend who travels around the world and takes pictures. I asked him if I could post his pictures and he said it would be OK, that he did not mind.

This is my first time to post a picture so if it does not take, mea culpa.

He took these in the desert and in keeping with the theme hope you like them.

it took, one more

I guess I have to post a message with each one. He got off the road to take this one, a storm blew up and he got lost. He's back now.
