Hot or not?

So, I scroll down the list of new poems, and I see that some of them say Hot on the side. Not that they're not hot, but what's hotter about them than the rest?

It can't be the votes, since some other non hot have higher scores. Is it the number of views?

You need at least 10 votes and a score of 4.50 or higher before an H appears beside your poem. Some poems that are not "hot" get an H for one reason or another--perhaps the poet has friends--lots of friends. Other poems receive it because they are good poems, or they touched the readers, etc. Who knows. It's crazy. It's poetry.

Oh, I just realized that you may be thinking that hot means hot... like "oh, wow, that was fucking hot." lol But hot for a poem means that it has received 10 or more votes of 4.50 or higher.

What has always bothered me far more than poems receiving a "friendship H"* is that there are poems out there that are so unbelievably good that don't have an "H". It always makes me wish I could vote multiple times just to give it the score it deserves.



*Friendship Hs probably don't bother me as much as they should because I have one. Therefore they can't be bad, right?

Thank you both for explaining the big H mystery to this little dumb blon..I mean brune...no, something in between, actually.

So it's ten votes and 4.5 or better? I have a whole stack of poems now with nine. I'll think of them as lukewarm then
