PLEASE
Do not post your interest or inquiries here.
There is a Seeking Writers thread for posting
interest and inquiries.

This thread is for organizing the information

THANK YOU.

I am only just now organizing the role play, so there is nothing yet for you to do.

If you want to know more, PM me or see the Seeking Writers thread linked above.

PLANET X: This description will be frequently edited as PCs discover more about Planet X. I will highlight recently added information with NEW.
  • Location: far, far away.
  • Astonomical Description:
    • From space during the crash landing, it seemed very similar to Earth: oceans, deserts, tropical forests, ice caps, etc.
    • Immediately after the crash, 1 moon is in the sky. It looks remarkaly like Luna (aka Earth's Moon).
  • Terrestrially:
    • Crash Landing Site:
      • Tropical rain forest.
      • Plant life is Earthlike, though there seemingly exist lots of larger plants than in an Earth rainforest.

THE ORIGINAL MISSION
  • In the late 22nd century, the Interstellar Transport Ship Opportunity Risen, ITS-4, left Earth with 110 crew and 2000 settlers.
  • At far faster than the speed of light, its transit to the planet Yordo III was to take more than 200 years.
  • The settlers were in cryogenic stasis before ITS-4 left System 1, the unofficial name for the Earth System. They were organized in Sections, each numbering 500 men and women from a wide variety of fields: scientists, doctors, laborers, farmers, trained (and armed) security (who doubled as hunters), administrators, and more.
  • The crew were up and around during departure but, as appropriate, were put into stasis as well. They each would spend more than 99% of the transit in stasis, being reanimated only as necessary for maintenance, training, status updates, and more.
  • As ITS-4 neared Y3, the balance of the crew would be reanimated in stages to prepare the ship for orbital arrival. Once in orbit, Section by Section would be reanimated and dropped to the planet. (The cryogenic beds were inside drop ships, so it was only a matter of reanimating the settlers, buckling them in, and disengaging the free falling, guided drop ships to the landing strip on Y3's already built settlement.)

CHANGE IN MISSION:
  • 150 years into its 200+ year transit, something happened to cause ITS-4 to change route.
  • No longer heading for Y3, it was now on a course for Y4.
  • Yordo IV had been considered for colonization and, in fact, had had a manned mission arrive at it even before ITS-4 departed System 1.
  • While Y3 was a more arid, more primitive planet, it was determined to be the better option compared to Y4, which was feared to
