I bought PLACE CALLED ESTHERVILLE, an obscure novel about interracial sex in Georgia in the early 20th Century. But its largely underage sex, so I cant say much about it, except to say its far superior writing to TOBACCO ROAD and GOD'S LIL ACRE. Both involve plenty of underage sex, too. PLACE CALLED ESTHERVILLE isn't cartoonish, and I rank it close to James Agee's Great Depression monument, LET US NOW PRAISE FAMOUS MEN.
