Honsest Opinion About Lit...

Well, I'm totally wasted...what better time to voice your opinion...lol.

It's hard to complain about this site, because, after all, it's free.

But, until the administrators of this site get it together, they will never realize it's full potential.

In the two weeks I have been on this site, I have seen a lot of posts from new people. They are often ignored, and this is due to the design of this web site. There are WAY to many threads and it causes confusion, it makes it hard to read and follow what’s really going on.

Here’s a couple of ideas that would make this more user friendly and inviting.

Lit should set up basic threads, with a variety of topics that people can post to.

Lit members, with tons of posts, should be able to start their own thread, but with a limit of one per month.

New comers can only start one thread until they reach a certain status.

Ok, these are not well thought out guidelines and I’m sure they’ll be ripped apart by long time lit members, but the fact is, this site needs to change, because people like me, come and go every day and you fail to keep us.

That may be ok with your devout members who have nothing better to do with there lives, but they aren’t the people that spend money…they have a free ride and they will cling to it, for as long as they can.

We newbies, are for the most part, gainfully employed and will generate income to your site, as opposed to the slugs that live here day in day out. I realize the value of them to, they provide an attraction, but you should look for new attractions and new sources of revenue.

This could be a great site with a few changes.

In closing I want to say that I have met some of the lifers on here and you have all been great! But to EVERYONE on this site….ya need to step into the real world more often…it is NOT healthy to be on here every day and look at this world as reality and your own as fantasy.

Let me start off with..........

A little judgemental on your part don't ya think. Meeting some of us is not the same as knowing us. Nor is it the same as having any idea as to what each of us seek from here. I, for one, don't appreciate you assuming that I am replacing this with reality! You have no clue what my reality is, or how I deal with it.

Opinions are like assholes, we all got 'em. There is a way to state yours without disrespecting others or causing them to not respect you.

As for revenue...I'm certain that the owner's of the site know a bit more about what they're doing than you. In any business it is not only important to generate new business but to keep your regular customers happy and returning, correct? What makes you think that a newbie is more likely to be employed than a regular? Sorry, but that's just ignorant.

This is a place to get away from limits and to explore our rights to free speach in a subject that is still very taboo in regular society. Why on earth would you want to limit that? You will be seen here as often as you make yourself seen. If you are feeling lost, dig in and post more. Oh, and it's probably not a good idea to get wasted and become an opinionated loud mouth and post things that may isolate you further. Just a hint there, dude.

As has already been said, if you don't like it don't stay. However, as a still relative newbie I have to disagree with you on wanting to limit what is posted. Certainly, not every thread is going to be read by everyone, but that's the great thing about freedom. You are free to read what you want to and ignore what you want to.

Lost? We all were once, post a thread to introduce yourself. OR post to other threads. But where do you get off making assumptions that the majority of lit posters are unemployed bums who spend all day here? Next time, think before you post. Oh wait..you were high, but that's no excuse.

I think I'll close this before it becomes more of a flame.

I've been here nearly a year....

and it does take time to get used to the format of the
bulletin board setup here on Lit.......but once you get
used to it, its easy!! I know there are people out there
who are too lazy to go thru threads that they want to
see.......etc. etc. etc.

Sure I know I was peeved when the Personals section
got split in two a few weeks ago, but now that more
time has passed since then, I think it worked out for
the best. In fact, one of our members took a survey
to find out what name could replace the title "Personals
Discussion Forum" (that's where the non personal
ads are), and a poll was done, and in time, Laurel put
up the new name, "The Playground".

I think that if the newbies have questions they should
contact Laurel and/or Manu....they are the ones who
are running the show on Literotica, and they do their
damndest to keep up the site!

Hey...the beauty of Lit is the freedom of expression,
one of the few precious liberties we still have!

I enjoy being on Lit, and if you're saying that we regulars
need to step into the real world more often, I can only
speak for *myself* and say that I work damn hard at a
job that pays not as much but helps people, and being
online is one way for me to chill and relax!

Oh..one more thing....if it wasn't for my discovery of an
ad for Literotica in Penthouse Letters magazine last
summer....I wouldn't be here today.

Now tell us the truth Tasty, you are a graduate from the Dale Carnegie Course on "How to Make Friends and Infulence Others", aren't you? Don't try and deny it, we can all tell.

Okay I am also a relative newbie here and I haven't found anything you pointed out as needing to be changed, anything that I personally would change. I am not upset at the amount of threads or the huge size of the Literotica board. I have little trouble navigating my way around. I see Literotic as a place where almost everyone, except maybe for the very seriously socially maladjusted, (does that remind you of anyone you know btw?) can make friends and enjoy themselves. As my godmother would so elegantly put it..."Shit or get off the pot." No one is forcing you to stay here.

I found Lit pretty much the same way,except it was Penthouse Variations that I found the ad in. I have been coming to Lit for a year now and even though at first it was confusing, I rallied and stuck with it. This has become the first place I go to when I get online. I have a good job,an excellent family and I am not a lazy person and I very much resent being thought of as a slug.
Tasty...the way I see it,if you don't like it here at Lit, LEAVE!

Some of us work hard, some of us just work, some of us study to be ready for work , some of us are retired, and some of us just don't work. But we all use Lit in our own way for our own satisfaction.

If there is a Slug on this thread , I think we all know who it is, and is trying to feed off those not as articulate as he/she is..

Let me just say that yes, there is an awful lot going on here, but that's what makes lit really cool. There's somethin for all - its just a matter of doing a little reading to find where you fit in. And hey, if you happen to get caught up in some thread by accident maybe you'll learn something?
Lit seems to be many things for many people and for me its all about self-discovery. I am learning so much about myself by asking all sorts of questions on everything under the sun. Thank God I found a place where I am truely free to do that. Why would anyone want to put a limit on my education?

- One person 6600+ posts, a mom with kids, in the process of moving, joined lit in January, is this a lifer? I don't know but she is one of the best.
- Several others out there dealing with death, injury accident. People on Lit providing love, care, prayers, I think the people here know about their real world and they don't know about the fantasy world you have put them in.

I'm not sure I would change anything on Lit! To all the newbies...........WELCOME TO LIT!!!! You gotta jump in there and hollow out....say it loud and clear "HEY, I'M HERE!!!!!! WHERE'S THE PARTY AT???" LOL Don't be shy. We are all friends here!!!!!

2nd of all.....Like I've said on another thread....Lit has many many uses!!!!! If you find a thread that ya like and wanna stick with that one...then go right ahead! But if you're like me and several several others....we like to jump around! See what's here and there. See just where the party's at and get opinions from everyone!!! Whether it be on sex, the right way to party, politics, war on everything, religion, life itself...we like to know what other's think and how they feel! this may be the internet, but it doesn't mean that people stop caring when they get here!!!

Once you get the hang of things and get those posts out there...it's rather easy to keep up! Not hard at all. What's confusing is when they change things on us...after we get used to it...it gets better! I like Lit just the way it is. Wouldn't change a thing now that I've really thought about it.
