Homosexuality, Sodomy and Religion

I would like to hear some sincere arguments that are not religiously based about why sodomy between two consenting homosexual adults should not be legalized.

I tend to believe that most laws that restrict the activities of homosexuals and all the laws dealing with the criminalization of homosexual sodomy have no justification beyond religion.

Many court opinions and legislators discuss morality in the way they deal with sodomy. But, doesn't this morality stem from the judeo-christian tradition in our society? If this is the case, why is it allowed in a legal system which tries to have a separation of church and state.

I genuinely would like to hear tangible arguments completely disassociated from religious beliefs and morals that justify such laws.

Truth: Anal sex has a (minor) negitive affect on your heath. It also is easier to contract diseases through anal sex then it would be through vaginal sex.

Is that a reason for sodomy to be illegal? Uh, no.

I don't have a problem with what two people do in their own privacy, and don't need to know. Religion used to teach individual accountability to your God, I don't know why they moved away to killing and bombing people they object to. What bothers me is this kind of funky shit......

Police blotters

Charleston police arrested an East Bank man for allegedly having sex with a sheep used in a West Side funeral home's live nativity scene.
Joey Armstrong, 29, allegedly broke into a shed that housed the animals used in the holiday scene at the Bartlett-Burdette-Cox Funeral Home on Tennessee Avenue about 5:50 a.m. Saturday, Charleston Police Sgt. Brent Webster said.

Police, who were responding to a suspicious person call, say they found the suspect at the nativity scene, Webster said.

Armstrong was charged with trespassing, destruction of property and cruelty to animals. He was being held at South Central Regional Jail on $2,500 bond.

Webster said police are consulting with the prosecutor's office and bestiality charges could be issued against Armstrong.
