I bumped an older General Board thread of mine and thought of posting it here too. How is this going for you all? :)

It's nice to see that most people said that they felt about the same re: same-sex or opposite-sex PDA.

I'm reminded of an experience - I don't know whether to call it one of the hottest things I've seen or simply one of the most touching. I was walking home with my gf at the time after we'd been out for a nice dinner. The only other people on the street were a couple of guys walking about 20 feet in front of us, who just taken a turn in the direction of the subway. We didn't pay much attention to them at all until just then, they swept each other up into a huge, romantic snog right there on the sidewalk - whereupon we both kept walking out of earshot and then melted into very girly sighs about the cuteness.

I'm very much in favor of mild same-sex PDA (e.g., hand-holding, cuddling, pecks on the cheek or lips), from a lot of perspectives. One, it's cute. Two, it normalizes same-sex relationships. Three, it makes me feel a little more at ease, seeing people who are obviously comfortable being with someone of the same sex around. Four, it's hard to be next to your special someone and not feel like you can touch them in an affectionate way!

I see couples holding hands occasionally; rarely, something more intimate, like the above situation. The girl I'm dating now and my ex have both routinely given me peck-on-the-lips kisses hello in public when I've picked them up for dates. I don't see that level of PDA between same-sex couples nearly as often as between opposite-sex couples, even when taken proportionally (I mean, obviously there are a lot more opposite-sex couples in the world than same-sex), which implies that even in fairly progressive areas, a lot of people still don't have a comfort level with it yet. It's unfortunate, but maybe that's something that will continue to change.

My girlfriend always wants kisses in public, she knows it'll turn me three shades of pink in seconds....It's not that I don't want to kiss her, I just feel weird about PDA's....I'd rather reallllllllllllly kiss her in private.... ;)

Heck I think it is great seeing men with men kissing, I think it is great seeing women kissing women, heck I even think it is great seeing men kissing women, and transexuals kissing transsexuals :)

let´s share the love of eachother and kiss the living hell out of eachother :)

I am happy living in Denmark :)

Depends if we're walking in a place likely to be hate-crimed or not.

If we're in our opart of the city...I'll walk hand in hand...kiss etc if I feel like it. If its someplce where thats likely to get you king hit from behind....obviously it doesn't even occur to me.

How could you tell? We (and by we I mean I) just want to blend in with the rest of our target gender. In public it will look like any other lesbian couple. :cathappy:
