There really should be a thread for the homonym mistakes that turn up in the stories. Not the simple typos, like 'not' for 'note'

But here are a couple from recent readings (in later posts I will have the exact quote)

"she was braising herself on her arm"

"served to vilify her suspicions."

How about it, all, what'd'ya got??

God, I wish I had written down all the hilarious ones I've seen. Most aren't actual homonyms, but just mistakes--words that are similar in spelling and pronunciation, but with a different meaning.

It appeared as if that enormous apparition thrusting forth from the young man's pelvis, was somehow, inside of Kara's body, entering between her legs!

One that always sticks out in my mind was someone who confused the word "orgasm" with "organism."

I've actually written "orgasm" for "organism," but not
iin a story. Usually I run my copy in front of an editor
before posting.
One that got by the editor was "discrete" for "discreet."
:
Howlers I have seen:
Bridle for bridal
Threw for through
Lay for lie
Capitol for capital
Aureole for areaola
Then there is the habit of breaking apart compound words.
Spellcheckers don't catch those.
Or vice versa,
Alot for a lot.

missed steaks

How about this, the first person narrator says to another person.

"I hope you don't believe the roomers about me and Aline."
