That's right, folks! I now have my very own tattoo.

I lost my virginity after fifteen years of waiting for the perfect moment.
Tonight was that night.

For your viewing pleasure, I have some photos that I would like to share with you all.

Give me a few moments to re-size the little buggers and I will be right back. Christ.

LOL

I always figured the cute lil mouse i kept looking at would look like a grizzly bear by the time I was 80.

I didn't want to traumatize the grandbabies by having to explain why granny had a bear on her boob.

;)

You are such a tease.

Why is that smudgy?
I plan to get a tribal tat on my right arm.

Very nice!

One of these days I'll man up myself and get that Dallas Stars tat that I've only wanted for three years now.

Hmm.. I may have some available money on the 21st now that I think of it...

Nice, but it does look a little smudgy. I plan on getting some Japanese characters as tattoos sometime in the next year...

I'm assuming it looks smudgy due to excess ink and the fact that the skin is so tender and trying to clean it off right now could lead to ruining the tattoo...

I could be wrong though. What do I know?

The smudge looks like the transfer they trace over when tattooing, although I can't figure out why it wouldn't have been wiped off unless the picture was taken mid-tat or directly after before it was wiped and covered.

So, did it hurt? The reason I'm asking is I'm contemplating having the Mona Lisa tattooed on my ass, with the Gettysburg Address superimposed on it.
I figure with two works of art (including my ass, natch), and some great prose, no Lit chick will be able to resist me.

I'm not sure what to think of tattoos. In general, I think the human body is fantastically gorgeous in its natural, unfettered state. But tattoos seem to be more about individual expression than beautification. I've thought about getting one, but can't think of a marking I'm sure I'll be happy with for a whole lifetime.

Incidentally, I like yours, BigMma. Very nice.

I'd be nervous about getting one in a foreign script, personally. I've heard too many horror stories about people who've paid good $ to get a tattoo, or T-shirt, or other trinket with their name or choice of word in Japanese, Chinese, Syrillic, etc. They think they've come away with something that says "night dweller" and it turned out to actually read "Goat Cheese." So I hope you double-checked the meaning of the symbol!

The most gorgeous tattooo I've ever seen was on a friend of mine. I didn't even know she had one until I saw her bare back... covering the entire small of her back and stretching down onto the top of her buttocks was a huge, colorful butterfly unfurling from a cocoon. It was stunning.

You're right. My body (oops, hold on a sec, I've got to get another pack of cigarettes and a beer) is a temple.

All the pics were taken during and right after the tat was done. I know because I took them for her.

Okay, I have the chance to answer these qu's.

First, this picture was taken about five minutes into the tattoo. The smudges are of some of the excess ink and the stencil.

I did double check the meaning and it reads WICKED. It is the beginning of an entire piece I planned. I will eventually have a sleeve done and it will blend together.

It didn't hurt at all. I thought I would be dying, but, nah. It was nothing.

This is the finished product. There is some slight swelling and redness. You will also be able to see remnants of the stencil.

Okay, here you are.....
