I don't like award shows. I hate the acceptance speeches. They make me nervous. I like the opening, maybe, and the red carpet. Alas, I am sad.

When will entertainers realize that they should ......well..... ENTERTAIN!!! I always liked Meryl Streep. She lost a fan. The golden globes....a show that recognizes talent -makes everyone dress in a blob of grey for the red carpet in an attempt to focus on just the talent- becomes a platform for crap. Way to be remembered for your lifetime of work. Should she not voice her opinions? Yes she should voice her opinions. Hold a sign in a protest rally....hold a press conference and get the word out there. Let the people that made you a star share a little bit in the night that recognizes all the work that made your opinion supposedly relevant anyway. I won't be seeing anymore.

Whether a Trump fan or not, some people just hear what they want to hear. Some people don't understand the whole issue of immigration. I am all for immigration. 3 or my 4 grandparents immigrated from Belgium. Took ships over in the early 1900's to begin the American Dream. They worked hard....did the legal pathway to citizenship and became not Belgium Americans but became just Americans that didn't forget their roots.

I love my kids. I want them to come home. I want people who wish to come home to America to come home. However, I am not stupid. When my kids sneak home and hide what they've been doing it's not good. If they sneak in friends(which they haven't) through the back door when I am not home nothing good can come from that. I want to meet their friends. Invite them in. Welcome them.

I have enjoyed looking at other countries and their immigration laws. Look at them yourself. Mexico is trying to call us racist but check their immigration laws:

What I dislike most is how they repeatedly show their disdain for the public. They do not honor the movies mainstream America watches for the most part. They honor the movies they think we should have watched. That is snub enough, but then to open your mouth and all but use the word deplorable...

They went apeshit over that movie "Birdman: ...." So I watched it; boring, humorless, depressing and I never once saw the special effects that everyone gushed about as being so wonderful; I saw special effects that have been SOP for a decade and a half now, if not longer.

Do not the ratings of their grand spectacle even give them the slightest clue as to how they lost the election?

Funny you should mention Birdman. Based on the previews and presence of Michael Keaton, I couldn't wait to see it. After it was released, I rented it online.
