So...I am not overly a big fan of the holidays I will admit. I am a bit of a humbug I admit. This year I have decided I want to try and enjoy it a bit more. I do want to say though it is ok and perfectly valid not to be bouncing about with excitement for it though. Some people are just not overly big fans for various reasons. You are not alone.

But to make things a wee bit more fun I thought I would share up until Boxing day with silly holidays that I found on a web site. (Boxing day is a holiday celebrated after Christmas day that comes on December 26th. It originated as a holiday to give gifts to the poor, today Boxing Day is primarily known as a shopping holiday. It originated in Great Britain but a lot of former territories of the British empire celebrate it still. Like me...in Canada. It's sort of like our version of black Friday here now a days.Lots of sales and such.Yes we still have black Friday in Canada On the day after american thanksgiving although that was not really a thing here until around the early 2000's honestly at least where I live.)

But today on

December 8

  • Immaculate Conception Day
  • National Blue Collar Day
  • National Brownie Day
  • Panama Mother’s Day
  • Pretend To Be A Time Traveler Day
these are the following holidays according to Good housekeeping.

So if you were born from a virgin? If you work a blue collar job, if you enjoy a delicious brownie on occasion, Are a mom from Panama or you just want to whip out your sonic screwdriver and pretend to see some dinosaurs this is your day.

So feel free to share if there are any other holidays you personally celebrate today.

Welcome to the 2nd day of merry litmas

The holidays for today are

December 9

  • Christmas Card Day
  • Lost and Found Day
  • Genocide Prevention Day
  • National Llama Day
  • National Pastry Day
  • Techno Day
  • Tanzania Independence Day
So today is the day to send out Christmas cards. (I have gotten a few already) You can also look and hopefully find something you have lost previously during the year. We can also work to prevent Genocide which obviously is a worthy cause. Hug your llama...or watch the emporers new groove. Make or eat some tasty pasteries. and listen to skrillix as you do. And congratulations on gaining your independence Tanzania back in 1964 when after they overthrew the Sultan of Zanzibar.

You are welcome Ditzy.

and now onto our holidays for today.

December 10

  • Dewey Decimal System Day
  • International Animal Rights Day
  • National Lager Day
  • Human Rights Day
  • Nobel Prize Day
So today's you might want to thank Melvil Dewey for keeping our libraries organized in the days before the internet was a thing. We also recognize our pets and other animals have rights to be happy and healthy and live their lives.Have a nice pint as you ponder humans also have rights as well as today would be the day the nominees for the Nobel prize will receive their awards.

I had some family stuff to attend to yesterday. Sorry about that. I will be posting 2 days of Holidays today.

So here we go..

December 11

  • National App Day
  • Burkina Faso Republic Day
  • UNICEF Day for Change
So download those apps people...the day says so...feel free to do it today because well there is an app for that. Burkina Faso is a country in the west of the African continent and got this own flag on this day in 1958 as well it is it is a day for change. So it is a day for kids to learn what they can do to prevent climate change and discrimination. Quite the worthy cause any time of the year really.

now onto today's holidays

December 12

  • Gingerbread Decorating Day
  • National Ambrosia Day
  • National Poinsettia Day
  • Our Lady of Guadalupe Day
  • Thailand Constitution Day
  • Worldwide Candle Lighting Day
  • Universal Health Coverage Day
It is the day to make all things gingerbread. Houses...men...women..nonbinary gingerbread people...go nuts. Sadly we cannot enjoy the ambrosia that was served on mount Olympus but it is a rather tasty fruit salad. It is also the day to get those pretty red flowers...although keep them out of the reach of pets they can be dangerous for them if they chew on it. For you Catholic types it is the day of our lady of Guadalupe which is the Spanish version of the holy mother Mary. The next is Commemorates the announcement of the first permanent constitution in Thailand in 1932. Congratulations to them. Light up your candles guys..it is the day for it and you can show your respects for someone you have lost by lighting a candle and thinking of them. And finally for many countries including my own is is universal health coverage day. So take a moment to be thankful that you have access to healthcare and not break the bank.

So...that's it for today stay tuned for more tomorrow. Same lit page same lit channel.

December 13

  • National Cocoa Day
  • National Day of Saint Lucia
  • National Violin Day
  • National Cream Cheese Frosting Day
  • National Horse Day
  • National Ice Cream Day
Enjoy yourself some chocolate and celebrate with a feast to the saint that has a lovely island named after her. Apparently this is the only island in the world that's named after a lady saint? Thanks google. Also break out that cat gut and strings and play those Stradivarius's, It also is the day for those who like cream cheese frosting...now I want cake. If you are a fan of horse back riding this is also your day so make sure to give your horses a nice sugar cube and some oats. and for those who...want to eat ice cream in the northern hemisphere (where I live) where it tends towards colder this time of year break out the scoops and cones. and for those who are starting summer...enjoy!

Hopefully people are enjoying these (i see a few who have hit the like button...yay) and if not....well I am lol. But if anyone has any holidays or traditions that they have this time of year feet free to share.

I had the best chocolate cupcake, topped with decadent fudge frosting and chocolate shavings to celebrate National Cocoa Day.

I was confused on the ice cream day too. But well I am one of those weirdos who like ice cream all the time. And that cupcake sounds wonderful.

And now we have our holidays for today :)

December 14

  • More Good Today Day
  • National Energy Conservation Day
  • Roast Chestnuts Day
  • National Free Shipping Day
Today is the day for random acts of kindness. (well time of year really) as well as shut off those lights if you don't need them. Roast up some chestnuts...or what ever kind of nuts you enjoy. and well if you don't have prime...I am guessing that some places to have free shipping. Sounds pretty spiffy.

Sorry for posting this late. My husband finally had a day off and I was spending it with him. :)

Todays holidays are as follows

December 15

  • National Cat Herders Day
  • National Re-Gifting Day
  • International Tea Day
  • Bill of Rights Day
  • National Cupcake Day
I personally have 3 cats...herding them..does not happen? I can get them to follow me if I have tuna or a treat bag. But yeah herding does not happen. You can also look into regifting...some don't think this is polite but I mean if you have something that someone else can use..why not? I am having a nice cup of tea from a sampler that one of the other mods sent me for my birthday and I am enjoying a nice strawberry rhubarb herbal tea. It is also Bill of rights day so good for you america. :) and Miss Roses (and everyone else really) you have an excuse to enjoy another cupcake because it is National cupcake day.

I don't have cupcakes today so I will enjoy my tea instead but yes...an excuse to eat sweets I am here for it.

Lol we will get to that Miss ToPleaseHim.

Here we are to all you guys, gals and non-binary pals for another round of holidays.

December 16

  • Day of Reconciliation
  • National Chocolate Covered Anything Day
  • Stupid Toy Day
  • Underdog Day
Today would be the day of reconciliation which is a day is dedicated to the people of south Africa to celebrate the end of the apartheid. Obviously something worth celebrating. It is also the day to cover anything in chocolate you might find tasty...(waggles eyebrows because lets face it most of our minds are in the gutter around here) It is also a day to fondly remember a stupid toy you might still even have (I personally still own a cat from the feline version of the pound puppies called pound purries I got for my 8th birthday. Her name is snowflake) But despite that I still love it. It is also the day to celebrate unsung heros and unexpected wins for people or you can watch the cartoon if you are feeling nostalgic.

I hope everyone's December is going well and I will be back tomorrow with more silly and some not to silly holidays.

All right here is this day of someones lord December the 17th of the year 2022.

  • Canadian Maple Syrup Day
  • National Ugly Sweater Day
  • Wright Brother's Day
  • National Wreaths Across America Day
Today is the day for waffles, pancakes and all things maple related. Break out those tasty foods. It's also the day to rock ones favorite ugly sweater...and it does not even need to be Christmas related. Just any ugly sweater you really love and can't seem to part with. It is also the day that commemorates the first successful flights in a heavier-than-air, mechanically propelled airplane, the Wright Flyer. Keeping in mind they were not the inventors of air ports just the planes in them. As well as its national wreaths across america day to distribute wreathes to fallen military members. Thank you all for your service in which ever country you live in.

So be back tomorrow with mooooooore!

  • Bake Cookies Day
  • Hanukkah (lasts through December 26)
  • Flake Appreciation Day
  • National Twin Day
  • Qatar National Day
  • International Migrants Day
  • Answer The Telephone Like Buddy The Elf Day
It is bake cookies day so I plan to make some..either peanut butter or chocolate chip. For our Jewish chatters it is the first day of Hanukkah. It is flake appreciation day..snow flakes not the flakey people you might know but they might like a hug. Twins rejoice you have your own day whoo! To Qatar today is a national commemoration of Qatar's unification in 1878. It is also on this day in 1990, the General Assembly adopted a resolution on the International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families. So be nice to the migrant workers. It's their day. It's also if you get any phone calls the day to scream"Hello Buddy the elf whats your favorite colour?!" And try not to call anyone a cotton-headed ninny muggins.
Have a good day :)

Hello every one we have a new list for today.

December 19

  • National Hard Candy Day
  • National Heroes and Heroines Day
  • Look for an Evergreen Day
  • National Emo Day
Thank grandmas and grandpas for this we celebrate all those werthers originals and cute little fruit bites we got from them. Break out your capes and tights and wear your underroos on the outside it is the day to be a hero or heroine and save the world! If you still haven’t hunted down your Christmas tree, then you’re in luck with Look for an Evergreen day today. And not that you Emo's will care because no one understands but they are trying by giving you your own day. Today is the day to embrace those dark emotions.

Having worked retail for several years, I think 12/26 is National Returns Day
Ugh, that is why I'm not online as much right now... 10-12 hour days in retail. I'm drained. Crossing my fingers that the sub-zero temps later this week will keep people at home and i can breath for a sec.

So I can't sleep so I thought I would post these now. Todays holidays are!

December 20

  • Go Caroling Day
  • National Sangria Day
  • Sacagawea Day
  • Games Day
Warm up those vocal cords and get your song books out so you can seranade your neighbors. It is also a day that recognizes a wine and fresh fruit combination and lets face it...some people will see this as a new excuse to break out some tasty bottles. It is also to celebrate the courage and contributions to Sacagawea (better know to Disney as Pocahontas) Did you you americans have 1 dollar coins with her face on it? And feel like playing some games...any game you like its the day for it. RPG's, board games...video games allllll the games.

see you Beardos and Weirdos tomorrow.

On the 21st day of litmas a website told to me the following holidays (because sunny can't sleep

December 21

  • December Solstice
  • Blue Christmas
  • Humbug Day
  • National Coquito Day
  • Look On The Bright Side Day
  • National Crossword Puzzle Day
  • National Homeless Persons’ Remembrance Day
  • National Maine Day
  • World Snowboard Day
  • National Short Girl Appreciation Day
It is officially now winter with the solstice and the first day of winter. I know many places have gotten snow already but its not winter until the solstice and this year it happens on the 21st. (sometimes the 22nd on leap years).

Fire up those record players because it is the day to celebrate with elvis singing his famous song blue Christmas. *here is it in case someone wants to hear it.

It is also the day to celebrate your inner Grinch as it is humbug day. (I have to admit I am a bit of one. Not every one is a huge fan of Christmas and honestly that's OK. I am more partial to Halloween myself)

It is also the day in Pureto Rico to celebrate with a tropical eggnog. I don't drink but it sounds tasty maybe i could try a virgin version myself as it has rum in it. (you might like this one as well Miss Frisk)

It is also look on the bright side day which sort of is at odds with the humbug but I suppose we need a day for Scrooges nephew after all.

My Dad would enjoy this day as he is an avid cross word puzzler

We also should take some time to remember those who have not been able to see this holiday season sadly in the homeless population.

It is also the day that Maine the most eastern of the states and the 23rd state to join the union to say hooray for you.

If you are a snowboarding fan it is your day. Strap that board to your feet and get out an enjoy the snow.

It is also National short girl appreciation day. A day to lean waaaay down to hug your favorite short girl I plan to hug mine and she will most likely try and look grumpy at me while I do and tell me to fuck off as she has a few times when I would keep reminding her of this day. She knows who she is.

Well this one was the I believe longest list we have had so far. I hope you all enjoy yourselves even you fellow Grinch's and Scrooges.

yesterday was national short girl appreciation day???? How not tall do you have to be to qualify for this :p

All right todays holidays areeeee!

  • National Cookie Exchange Day
  • Zimbabwe Unity Day

Today is the day for you Mathly types to get your calculations on. I am not great at this so yeah lol this is not my day. It also also the day to bake and give them to people. I notice this month has alot of baked good days..not that I am complaining mind you. lol This also is the day that commemorates the merger of two political parties, Zanu-PF and PF-Zapu on December 22nd 1987 in Zimbabwe. Congratulations to our chatters there. It is also the day some celebrate the pilgrims landing on Plymouth rock. So don ye now your...black and white apparel I guess? That's it for today see you all tomorrow. :)
