What are your hobbies? The shit you do to amuse yourself, not what you do to survive.

I have many. Virtually anything to do with the shooting sports including hunting. I do photography and gardening. Systems design (I used to do that for a living but now that I don't HAVE to do it I'm finding I enjoy it). And distilling my own whiskey (you can call it 'moonshine' if you want, but that's not exactly what I do). Shibari, but that ties in with the photography.

What are your hobbies?

This place reminds me I need a hobby or three.
Maybe I'll take up cigars and tvland.

I enjoy a few things. (watching movies, water-related - before my accident ec).

But the ones that I find to be most meaningful are reading (the sense that one's transgressing time and space by connecting with like-minded people etc.) and connecting with animals. Their unconditional love and the way in which they teach us how to enjoy life.
What would life be without dogs…

Martial arts, reading and gardening.

I used to do a lot of programming, math stuff, graphics, but not really anymore...

How long've you got?

Crafts (yes, that's right several different ones - RSI means I have to switch between works in progress), reading, writing, campaigning, advocacy, photography, arguing with people online... I'm into a lot of other things too, but there are only so many hours in the day.

I read a lot. Mostly for learning, but with the ocasional novel thrown in.
I cook, with the aim of learning new cuisines (every Jan 1st I pick a new country and spend the year learning to cook their food. This year is Poland.)
I have recently begun pbotographing interesting sites and people in my local area, and have had a couple of pics published :)

We should start a photography thread. I belong to one on Flicker. Post work once a month and are open in feedback and suggestion. And despite Lit, I dont mean porn.

I bake, and not a bloody cheat bread maker machine. Photograph, walk, travel, garden with an air of hate, read, OD on TV. Write a bit- Actually the photography project of sort of 'down your street' is one I have been trying to get right for ages. I have the ideas,- the list of folk, their interests, the community- village but god its time demanding.
Check Revillious in Devon.

Writing for Literotica; irritating our local City Hall both officials and councillors; advising charity bookshops on which books are valuable; working with several community groups; and, of course, grandchildren.

I have always been a car nut, so once every week or two i will find some oddball car or truck for sale in some rural village, priced under market value.

A drive to a new backroads destination, maybe buy the vehicle sort of thing.

Same with motorcycles; i usually have two or three bikes and three or four cars/trucks on the go.

My keepers are usually harley bikes, bmw cars and older ford pickups.

I collect tobacco tins...ashtrays...old soft drink signage...teapots...watches...guitars and most anything that is old and high quality.

Reading, off-roading/exploring, DIY, just starting in IDPA. gardening. I harvest my own firewood for heating which is probably a combination of hobby and being a cheap bastard.

If you come across a copy of My days with the diesel;: The memoirs of Clessie L. Cummins tell them it's not worth much but you know someone who'd like to buy it. :D

I'm not sure reading Charles Atlas' pamphlet "How To Be A He-man in 30 days" qualifies as martial arts.
Do you wear the black belt when you're kicking the shit out of the weeds?

Hobbies? Feh. I spent four years in law school while working. I thought I could develop a hobby or two after graduation - bought a BMW convertible, took up Mandarin - and then toward the end of September, the universe decided to flip the table on me.

My wife took an at-home pregnancy test. It was positive.

So hobbies are out the window for the next 18+ years.

Yoga - I've been practicing coming up on seven years and it's one of the best things I've ever taken up.

Cooking, nature walks, coloring, reading. Once in a blue moon I'll start knitting again, but I'm not particularly skilled.

Sit back a spell, for I have a few:

I am an artist of many mediums, such as pen and ink, pencil, clay, stone, wood, you get the idea.

I am a blacksmith, and a cowboy boot maker.

A gardner of odd things, such a tobacco, heirloom wheat that is decended from wheat the Spaniards brought to the American Southwest in the 1600s.

I am the self-proclaimed protector of a beaver dam near my house.

I am a car guy, and own, and have owned some pretty cool vehicles.

I am a motorcyclist.

i run.

I teach my grandkids the simple ways and things of farm life.

That's all for now.:)
