Read Gibbon's Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire to get one objective view.
Read the Roman authors writing during the Roman Republic about how things were worse than they had been in their grandfathers' time.
Read the contemporary accounts of the actions of the Roman Emperors. Look at the mass of archaeology of Roman and post-Roman eras. Look at the achievements of the Byzantine Empire that was half of the Roman Empire.
All that evidence shows the video linked in the original post was bullshit.

Any historian should tell you that history is constantly reinterpreted. We can never known the whole truth of what happened yesterday, let alone what happened one hundred years ago.
All that history can do is record what seemed to have happened and advance theoretical reasons for what did happen.
Even classical Roman historians disagreed about how history should be written and what history's function should be. Should it help us to avoid the mistakes of the past? Should it celebrate the feats of our ancestors to encourage the current younger people to emulate their achievements? Or should it just baldly record events that happened with no additional comments?
History PROVES nothing. Historians' interpretations might suggest a correlation between some events and others - until another historian comes along and suggests a different version.
We still don't know what exactly happened when President Kennedy was assassinated - except whatever happened he was dead.
If we don't know what really happened in one of the most studied events of the 20th Century, how can history PROVE that the decline of the Roman Empire 1500 years ago was caused by X?
