Being a poet, I get to hug a lot of women at open mics and poetry readings yet some I can smell their aroma for hours after we've gone our separate ways. Is it their body chemistry or the way she applies it. One woman in particular wears a toilet water that just lingers in my nostrils and keeps me thinking of her for hours. I don't want her, particularly although if she offers it to me I wouldn't turn it down. Has anyone experienced anything similar :D

my ex-bf... I remember the scent of his cologne. After he left for home the last time he was here, the fragrance lingered for days on the pillowcase. I could smell him for days, made me miss him so much.

I still do......

This is an interesting question. There is one girl I remember from college. She slept on my pillow in my dorm room one night and left her perfume all over it. For many years, I remembered that scent. I can still see her shadow walking past the blinds of my dorm room window to knock on my door. She was so lovely ... and a North Carolina girl too! :D

Occaisionally a scent will drift by and remind me of a wonderful woman from about 30 years ago...all memories return and for a moment, she's only a few hours away in my mind...

Not sure of the reason, but I remember a guy coming into my work one day and he was wearing the same cologne that a friend of my Dad use to wear when I was young. I had not seen or smelled him in at at least 15 years....

That's exactly what I mean I can smell certain ones in my clothes, shirt for example, for hours :D

Don't discount the role of pheromones as part of this. In addition to cologne and perfume, we all have our own personal scents.

My ex-lover was intoxicating to me, I could literally lie next to him and breathe in his scent for hours. If he was in the room, I wanted to be near him.............there were other things going on, but his kiss, his taste, his scent could send me reeling. When I was still seeing him, I took one of his t-shirts from his laundry basket (he knows! LOL!), but I also snatched an empty bottle of his cologne that he had thrown away without him knowing it. They are both still in the vanity drawer next to my bed..............
