The hypocrisy on this website amazes me. I'm not a Hillary Clinton supporter, but she is regularly bashed by the right wing posters for any and everything.

I was disgusted that she was 'fed' questions at a press conference, but I certainly don't know whether or not she was aware that it was happening or if it was done by an over-zealous and extremely stupid subordinate.

In either event, it's a minor infraction. Hell, the Republicans have been doing this for years with no comment from these self-righteous posters here on the website. I get it: it is alright for a Republican to pull a stunt like that, but let Hillary or her subordinates do it and it's time to lop off her head!

Bush lies to get us to go to war. His attorney general lies to congress with impunity. He outs a covert CIA agent because her husband told the truth. He takes a vacation while New Orleans is being swept under by a hurricane. He illegally taps our phones. He routinely tortures prisoners. He does these and many other things without a peep from you hypocritical assholes.

Bill got a blowjob! Impeach the lying son-of-a bitch!

We have threads about the size of Hillary Clinton's butt. It's just an insidious and asinine way to belittle this woman by her haters. Whether her butt is one size or another really doesn't effect her ability to govern, does it?

And now we have Rudolph Guiliani. I don't see any posts about the size of Rudy's skinny little ass. I don't see any posts about his beady eyes, his lying ways when he was Mayor of NY.

And where is the outrage about something that really matters? Bernard Kerik, the man Guiliani hired to be the Police Commissioner of New York; the man Guiliani lobbied President Bush personally to become chief of Homeland Security, has Mafia ties. The same man was having an affair with a reporter while his wife was pregnant. Where are the comments about that, people?

And where is the outrage that Ruppert Murdock's minions tried to get that reporter who had the affair to lie about it? Oops, surprise! Giuliani is Murdock's/Fox News' selected successor to GW.

Strangely, no outrage has been forthcoming. St Rudy remains above such minor things as mafia ties, truly immoral conduct, and lying.

I'm not surprised. The right wing is nothing if not a bunch of fucking hypocrites.

But for those of you who read this website that don't come with a predefined point of view, those who are willing to be fair and balanced (snide remark intended). Don't you see the duplicity of these people? Doesn't it disgust you?

Where is your outrage?

It's not hypocrisy, just plain old garden-variety rationalization. Take a deep breath. There. Feel better?

You're right, I need to take a deep breath. I also need to rant upon occasion when I see where this country is going and the wimp-assed yes-men that are lead around by their noses and do nothing as the country falls around them. There-- more rants.

BTW, I especially include the fucking Dems in that group of wimp-assed yes-men. 75% of the country wants change. The Dems were elected specifically to bring about change. And yet, Bush still has them in his pocket.

There's gotta be something going on that we know nothing about. The entire Congress can't be bought-out cowards, can they?

i'm pissed with congress. but you realize the entire rovean machinery is poised above congressmen and -women.

if they vote to lessen funds, their only leverage, Bush goes on TV and says,

"brave men and women are dying and a few democrat congressmen are playing politics. as commander in chief, i am already bringing home the troops on the way to a just peace.

if your congressman disagrees with the pace, but not the objective, wouldn't the patriotic thing to do, be to say, "my country right or wrong; i love it"? join the team, and give up cheap political moves?

please phone or write your congressman and ask him to do his job, no grandstanding, while i and General Petraus do ours. remind him of how soon november is coming and what patriotism means to you and to other voters.

The FEMA thing was funny.

More amusing even has been the catalog of dips who are trying to defend it.

When the deceit was exposed, Johnson, the FEMA deputy director who actually answered the canned questions about the fires in California, had to apologize, saying, “We are reviewing our press procedures” to see what went wrong. It’s not your procedures, dude, it’s your ethics!

Pat Philbin, FEMA’s head of communications, deplored the “bad decision.”

“I should have stopped it... I would hope this does not undermine FEMA's credibility,” he said. Made me laugh.

Dana Perino from the White House propaganda staff disclaimed any White House responsibility: “It is not a practice we would employ.” Actually, Dana, it is, and you have. His own group have been caught in numerous attempts not just to plant fake reporters in press briefings, but to pay columnists to write favorable reports, and to issue fake video news reports to TV stations. Some columnists were hired upwards of fifty times to issue canned White House "information." Fake news spots were distributed all over the country.

I don't mind the shills in the audience. I let FEMA off the hook for it, and Bush, too, and even Hillary. I do draw the line well short of fake news. I wouldn't have imagined we had to worry about producing video clips of 'reporters' issuing government propaganda. The news outlets themselves publish every damn news release the government puts out without even checking their facts, the way it is.
Seems like a work of supererogation to go to all the trouble to plant news spots whole.

That whole fake news thing is very Orwellian, don't you find? Brings the old adage to new urgency: don't believe what you read in the papers.

How you can put these two paragraphs in the same post is a miracle of intellectual contortionism. I congratulate you!

Take a deep breath indeed, or retreat to a cave for the next 12 months, because the above paragraph describes practically every politician at this level since George Washington, regardless of party. It's the nature of the beast, and it's completely bipartisan.

They're actually genuine supporters of empire and of the corporatocracy that pays their campaign bills. Nothing cowardly about it.

The Dems' candidate for Prexy last time supported the Iraq war. Kerry just had reservations about the way it was being handled. Wanted more troops on the ground. He was pro-empire. A lot of 'em are. They see the oil, and the energy handwriting on the wall, and they actually hope to have some control of it. That was Kerry's whole beef-- he could see, despite all the reports of "good progress" in Iraq, that any hope of control was evaporating fast.

I don't see that, or the hundreds of millions in corporate campaign funding, either one, as being something we know nothing about. We know it.

The corporate quid-pro-quo deals are slimy, true-- they are what we intend when we use the word corrupt. But we know about them. Many of those deals are struck in meetings at the RNC and DNC conventions, and many more, ongoing, are struck with lobbyists daily. But we rely on those very politicians to pass campaign and lobbying reforms, and they won't do it.

The empire thing, hey, a lot of the rank and file believe that oil needs to be in American-corporate hands, even if those supposedly American interests are headquartered in tax havens and do not return the support America is supposed to be giving them. But empire is never based on rational expectations, it's a glory thing.

BULLET

I'm in favor of everything Hillary does. You can ask her how many chocolate chips she uses in her cookie dough, or demand she identify her favorite flower. You can stick her in the World Series and let her slap beach-balls with her bat. I'm for it!

Here's a prediction for you. At her Inauguration her people will be picking pockets in the assembled crowd. Her Inaugural Parade will be indistinguishable from a Los Angeles riot, when her staff breaks windows along the route and pushes out carts loaded with stuff. I'm in favor of that, too.

No other candidate has such entertainment potential as Hillary. Make plenty of popcorn and sell the dvd player when she gets elected.

James, I really don't know how to take you.

Is this humor you are giving us? I just don't see it if it is.

Try a different approach, maybe, cause this kind just doesn't work for me. I know a bit about humor and this ain't it.

If you are just a Hillary hater, then please go on to something else. This is getting old.

In truth I am indifferent to Mrs. Clinton. It's the haters I'm not indifferent to.

BULLET

I dont hate Hillary. I'm confident she's a scholar and nice person.

Here's the thing...if the election were THE DATING GAME, my choices are HILLARY or 6 eldery librarians. Its an easy decision to make. The Republicans are not making my boner throb. But Hillary isnt someone you bring home to meet mom. Hillary invented skank. Everyone knows Hillary will do it if the money is right.

So, while she blows kisses and teases the Left, she goes home with who's got the money. It's gonna be a ton of fun to watch her break your heart.

When Hillary gets done, Democrats wont elect another President for 50 years.

America needs her special medicine.

I'm as serious as death about voting for her.
