I don't believe she requested her clearance to be revoked. I think it's cover:

Hillary Clinton loses security clearance after server scandal

By Stephen Dinan - The Washington Times - Friday, October 12, 2018
Hillary Clinton has given up her security clearance in the wake of the scandal over her handling of secret information on her email server, the Senate Judiciary Committee revealed Friday.

Chairman Charles E. Grassley also revealed top Clinton aide Cheryl Mills and four others no longer have clearance.

Mrs. Clinton’s clearance expired at the end of August. The others lost their access privileges in September.

The State Department, in a letter to Mr. Grassley, had said Mrs. Clinton and her aides retained clearance in order to conduct research after she left office.

The names of the four additional aides besides Ms. Mills were redacted from the State Department letter that the committee released.

Your usual spin. She asked for it to be canceled, as the article itself says in the opening paragraph.

Did her aides make the same request? I doubt it. I doubt Hillary did either in view of the present IG report on the State Department forthcoming. Probably has a lot more to do with that than any "request" made by her. McCabe and Stzrok lost theirs as a result of the IG report. Her asking to have her security clearance revoked doesn't pass the smell test when it is known she committed many felonies in relation to the Espionage Act, Comey's political exoneration notwithstanding...which could very well be the subject of a re-investigated as we speak.

Why, of course it doesn't pass your smell test. You're standing in a pile of garbage.

So, how does Trump's friendliness toward the authoritarian murderous thugs Putin, Kim, and the Saudi crown prince smell from where you stand in the landfill?

I've already explained the Saudi question. Your other insinuations are disingenuous inventions, Keith.

Reminds me of the time Bill couldn't fill White House posts because nobody could pass security clearance. :)

Maybe she wanted it gone so no future headlines read

Hillary uses her security clearance to (fill in the blank)

Its about time

It should have been dropped with one year leaving the state department. I am so surprised nothing is being pushed to investigate the $60 million in donations to the "Clinton fund" and a Russian having the rights to 30% of the US uranium.

According to Unlimited Access : An FBI Agent Inside the Clinton White House by Gary Aldrich. Hillary Clinton ordered the author not to conduct a background check on any of her personal staff.

You know that "Uranium One" thing is bullshit. Long since debunked. Surprising it keeps popping up.

Hillary asked for it to be revoked in August. Sorry about your narrative being a bust.

It really wouldn't have mattered much whether she still had a clearance or not. Any request by her for access to classified information would have not only had to be permissible under the specific security clearance she had, but she would have had to have had a specific "need to know" that information in order to legitimately perform the research she was authorized to conduct. There aren't many legitimate needs to classified info for an unemployed cabinet member or washed up U. S. Senator.

This is a yawner on a par with "Elvis has left the building."

That's how it's supposed to work. The problem is that we've all become aware of how seriously the employees at the State Dept. take security procedures. By making the loss of those security credentials public no one can fall back on the excuse, "I didn't know."
