After reading MissLinnets original signature. (Now removed) I am thinking of doing a story on Scottish clansman CONNOR MACLEOD
If you never have seen the film short synopsis…
The year is 1536. Scottish clansman CONNOR MACLEOD is mortally wounded in battle by a terrifying warrior, THE KURGAN. Miraculously, his wounds heal. Cast out by superstitious villagers, he settles in a remote spot as a blacksmith, marrying a warm-hearted farm girl, HEATHER.
Five years later, he's sought out by RAMIREZ, a flamboyant Egyptian/Spanish nobleman who teaches him that they, like the Kurgan, are immortals, a unique breed of men who can die only by decapitation, fated to duel down the ages to a mysterious distant time called the Gathering, when the last few will battle for The Prize. The evil Kurgan must never possess it. MacLeod wants no part of this, but cannot escape his destiny.
Heart breaking, he must watch his beloved Heather grow old and then die in his arms, while he remains forever young and strong. Shutting off his feelings, he vows never to love again ...
So begins a romantic, action-packed saga spanning four centuries. The distant time Ramirez spoke of is now, the place, Manhattan. Headless corpses are discovered. A reign of terror grips the city. The cops are baffled.
Good-looking weapons expert BRENDA WYATT, investigating a killing beneath Madison Square Garden, finds an ancient sword which she dates at 600 B.C. -- historically impossible.
Her search for answers leads to an antique dealer the cops have questioned. His face is compelling, his eyes haunting, evoking timeless mystery. It's MacLeod.
Brenda is persistent, drawn to him. Powerfully attracted, MacLeod's reserve crumbles. Years of isolation start to melt away as they become lovers.
Meanwhile, the Kurgan hits New York like a one-man wrecking crew. Maddened by eons of blood-lust, he slaughters everything in his path, searching for his ancient enemy -- the Highlander.
Luridly disguised, he captures Brenda, forcing MacLeod into a climactic show-down against spectacular New York backgrounds. The Kurgan is finally beheaded.
My story is about what happens after his wife dies and before he meets for the gathering in it I play the daughter of his clan leader Angus (not in the film made up character)
This is the start
From the dawn of time we came moving silently down through the centuries. Living many secret lives. Struggling to reach the time of the gathering. When the few who are left will battle to the last. No one has ever known we were among you..... Until now: Highlander
The year is 1610 AD. I was the only daughter of Angus McLoud leader of the clan McLoud I was born in Glen Finnan in the year of our lord 1590. For all the years I was growing up I heard the stories of Conner McLoud how he survived the deathly blow from the unknown dark warrior of the Frazer clan in 1536. The stories were always told behind closed doors as the sound of his name stuck the fear of Lucifer through the minds of the weak and feeble.
When my father was dying he called me to him and said “Maggie my love! I want you to find Conner McLoud and give him this” Handing me a scrap of parchment.”
“Say that I am sorry and to take the only thing of any worth to me and protect it.” As the last word passed his lips the life drained from his sole. I found the legendary Highlander lost and alone wandering the lowlands with no purpose and no meaning to his life.
As I approached I began to feel ill and strange sensations swept through my body he turned knowing I was there drawing a sword the like I have never seen. “Who are you? Come no closer” He shouted across the valley. I stopped in my tracks fearing for my life as he gaze fell upon my form.
“I am Maggie McLoud the only daughter of Angus McLoud of Glen Finnan.” Trying to impress upon him I was someone important.”
“Be gone Angus has no Daughter.”
“He sent you this.” Throwing the parchment towards his feet, with his sword still drawn he stepped towards the parchment. Picking it up he began to read the coded message that was upon it. He fell to his knees whilst he read it if he was going to pray but instead he let out a scream that echoed around the valley.
“I have a spoken message also.”
“What is it?” His voice sounding feverish.
“My father said I am sorry and to take the only thing of any worth to me and protect it. But he gave me nothing else but that parchment.”
After this it will be revelled she is an immortal also and Conner teaches her to fight and they become lovers but not got that far any ideas any one
Film is a must see for its time...
