Several years ago, Furries entered our world. They were like most people, except that they were humanoid sentient animals. Many of them were stronger, leaner, more toned than humans. For that reason, many of them had found jobs in the porn and entertainment industries. They have come to be everywhere, and are accepted readily. In this world, in the city of Las Vegas, a hotel/strip club/bar called The High Tailed Inn has sprung up, and does thriving business. Vincent Murakumo and several other humans work there. As much as the Furries lure in the customers, many of them enjoy the human dancers as well. Vincent DJed at the club, and managed it. He wasn't aware who actually owned the club, but he did what he could to manage it well. He walked into the club that day to open up. He knew the dancers would be arriving soon, and there would be an open stage night that night, so he had to make sure everything was ready.

Tai was also there, putting chairs down after having sweeped up. They’d have to do it again after closing, but they were both used to it by now. Vincent nodded at Tai, then headed upstairs to the office. He usually took care of the Djing from up there, but tonight they were supposed to be getting some new dancers. The big dragonman knew Vincent would want to meet the dancers, so he had set up a booth just beside the dance platform.

As Vince entered the office, he found two notes. One of them had the names of two new dancers, and the other was a note to hire some new barmaids to help the bartender. Vincent grinned at that thought. His mind immediately went to an image of tavern wenches from old French movies. He shook his head, then placed some calls. After a few minutes, he hung up, then headed downstairs. The note for the two dancers also had two small pictures of them. Vincent grinned, studying the pictures as he walked down the stairs. He had to wait for one of the regulars to get in, to talk to them about getting the two new girls something that matched their looks for onstage.

Jin walked towards the Hall, he had heard good things about this place. Beautiful women, great drinks, an overall place for socialites ad all their glory. Opening the doors, he walked in to meet his friend who he grew up with for so long. "Vincent, where are you...?" He asked himself, looking around. "You said you were in need of some security?" He took out his trusty blade from his side sheathe and grinned. "Nothing is more secure than this my good friend." Unsheathing the blade, it shone against the lights that hung above, leaving a glimmer against the floor. "You remember though, it will only be for emergencies...and you promised a good pay too. None of this 50-50 bullshit like your other workers. I told you and everyone else I would never weild a blade but you are one I could make an exception for." He sheathed the blade and placed it back to his side. "So where are the dancers..." He reached towards his side pocket and pulled out two smokes. "They should be coming soon right?" He gestured for Vince to take one.

Vincent raised an eyebrow, seeing Jin walk in. He shook his head at the antics of the guy. They had known each other for a while, and it had been Vincent's idea to hire the guy. He shook his head again at the offer of a cigarette. "I gave those up. As for the dancers, they're not in yet. I'm waiting for one of them to show up. Got two new girls starting tonight, and I want her to get them dressed up for their show. The pay, however. Well, that's not up to me. I don't own the place, I only manage it. I'm still waiting to hear from the boss, whoever that is. Of course, they shouldn't have a problem with it, so long as you keep that out of site." He motioned to the sword. "The bouncer over there is Tai. He's been with the club longer than I have. He got me hired as DJ and Manager."

Tai had ignored the antics. He'd seen Jin before, in the news in regards to martial arts tournaments. While the man was skilled with a blade, Tai was fairly certain his strength couldn't match his. He was, after all, a Dragonic. He finished setting down the chairs, then walked over. "The bartender's not in yet either, Vince. Knowing him, he's probably walking again."

He tapped the handle of the hiding sword, shaking his head. "We may need to talk to your boss...I don't handle a sword unless the odds are in my favor....especially since...well you remember..." His ears lower a little as he said this, sighing softly, a wisp of smoke released itself from his thin lips. Taking out his blade once more, he whirled it around with one hand and gave him a quick chuckle. "Oh by the way, I finally mastered THAT technique..." He closed his eyes and walked over to Tai, sheathing his blade. "Yo." He greeted to the dragon man. He could sense that this was a fighter too, just his stance gave it off. That and he was a bouncer.

Vince chuckled, then pulled out his cell phone. He dialed the home number of one of his dancers, waiting for the woman to pick up.

Tai turned to look at the man, and bowed his head slightly. "We're going to be late opening, at this rate. Still, once we do open, things should pick up rather quickly."

"I just hope there aren't too many blathering idiots...I don't want to have to see blood on my first day because I hit a guy too hard." He sighed and held out a cigarette to him. "Care for a smoke?"

Tai shrugged. "The regular customers are good people. Sometimes we get the occasional rowdy guy, trying to touch the girls without permission. The first time that happened when Vince was here, he ended up with a broken arm. I taught him how to fight with his fists because of that. He's actually better than I am."

"Hm, I will have to check on that later." He sighed. Taking the cigarette back to its pack, he crushed the burnt out one in his hands, it hurt a little but not too much. He's gotten used to it after all. "I just hate when people disrespect girls, you know?" He shook his head and sighed once more. "They call them sluts or something like that and it gets me really bothered. Makes you just want to send a fist into their eye..."

Tai grinned. He had had a similar conversation with Vincent, but Vincent had given him an interesting idea. "Vince once told me that it's better to be a slut than to be a whore. Of course, some of the girls here are both. I don't think you want to know what some of them do to make extra money."

"Either way, if they want to do that to themselves I don't mind...but still..." He yawned. "Well, until this place picks up, I'm taking five." He walked over to one of the chairs and rest his head on the table, drifting to sleep.

Tai nodded, then went out to do some walkarounds. He had to make sure the stage door was ready for the dancers. Then he unlocked the door for the dressing area. Finally, he checked in on the kitchen, seeing that the chef staff was already there. Finally, he came back out, entering the club through the hotel entrance. "Everything checks out so far, Vince. No sign of the girls yet though."

Vince nodded, hearing the status report by the big dragon. He hung up, then shook his head, and decided to start up some music for them. He walked over to the makeshift booth, and put on one of his CDs. As the music started to fill the club, the booming bass of the Eurodance music pounding.

Champagne ran a hand through her thick, waist length, blonde hair before stepping into the club. She bit her bottom lip ever so slightly as she scanned the interior looking for anyone who might be able to help her. The denim mini skirt she wore, clung to her rounded hips and behind like a second skin, her carefully groomed tail swishing behind her as she swayed in, the heels of her shoes clicking against the floor. Her generous bust was barely concealed by a simple white cut off t-shirt and her upper arms were decorated with delicate white gold armbands. She looked good, and she knew she had to. She needed the job and needed to ensure she got it with as little questions about her past being asked as possible.
Her honey coloured eyes quickly found a human in the DJ booth beside the stage. Smiling as brightly as she could, she walked over.
"Hi...my name's Champagne, I'm supposed to begin dancing here tonight...do you know who I need to speak to...?" She asked, her voice slightly raised over the music.

Vincent looked up, seeing a luscious blonde vixen. Then he realized she was talking to him. He pulled off his headphones, and smiled. "You must be one of the new girls. I'm Vincent. I'm the manager and DJ. I'm trying to get one of the gals to get you an outfit to wear on stage tonight. I suppose I could show you around though, while we wait. The big dragon behind you is Tai." He nodded to the dragon, who laughed slightly, then turned back to checking the security station's minicam tv. Vincent pulled the headphones off, then stepped out of the booth. Then he looked her up and down, and smiled, holding out his hand. "Nice to meet you."

Champagne followed his gaze and flashed another bright smile towards the large dragon before turning back to Vincent. Allowing her eyes to rove over his form, he was taller than her, but then again, most people were. Cute face too, for a human.
"Nice to meet you."
"Pleasure to meet you too..." She said, shaking his offered hand. "And yes, I'm one of the new girls, I'm Champagne. And an outfit would be great, I do have a few at home but didn't think to bring one with me..." She laughed lightly before adding. "And a tour would be great, thanks..."

Vincent nodded to Tai, then put a couple of MP3 cds in, setting them to play in a loop for a while. Then he turned back to her, smiling. He stepped out of the booth, and then stopped. "That's a temporary DJ booth. I usually spin from up there." He pointed to the big booth that was his office. It was actually big enough that he was considering moving in. He was hoping to eventually buy the place from whoever owned it, and then he'd be running the club. Then he turned towards the bar. "That's the bar. The stage is right here, next to us. The area backstage has the dressing room, and some other stuff. There are...uh...well, extra rooms. Those rooms are generally for the use of the girls who opt to entertain customers in private. They all have cameras going to the security station. I can punch up the feed up there too." He smiled, and then stretched. "Come on, I'll show you the dressing rooms."

He headed backstage, opening a door near them. He held it open for her, and then smiled. "There are restrooms back here too."

OOC: i just noticed part of my intro is missing x.x

"Hey, Tai," Larry didn't notice walking past Vincent or Champagne as he came walking in carrying a huge box. "That busted camera finally came back from the repair shop. Sorry about not getting there before the moron threw the beer bottle into it."

Only then did the young tiger turn and see the new girl walking away with Vincent, a small smile on his face. "New girl?"

Shadow roamed across the club, playing the role of the gracious host. He knew all the proper questions. "What's everybody drinkin' tonight?" "You boys enjoying the accomodations?" "Anything you need, gents?"

He removed a band from his middle finger and began rolling it back and forth rapidly from his hanging fingertips, pausing only at one end for a moment before rolling it to the next. He catered to the gamblers and provided magic when none of the dancers were out, and he certainly enjoyed his job.

He noticed Vincent with a new girl at the door leading backstage. "'Eeyy, Vince!" People often told him that his voice had a Martin Sheen quality to it, though he personally didn't believe it. He always thought he sounded more like Scott McNeil. "Who's the new girl?"

Shadow stopped rolling the band across his fingertips and with a flick of the wrist, the ring ended up back on his finger all the way up to the knuckle as if by magic.

Champagne listened carefully, watching as he directed her gaze to the various points around the club, following him towards the stage, noticing a large young tiger looking in her direction.
"There are restrooms back here too."
She stepped through the door he held open with a slightly shy smile, at both Vincent's gentlemanly opening of the door and the tiger's gaze.

"It seems like you have pretty much everything in this place..." Her smile grew a little, curving her lips as the door shut behind them. "So...what time do things tend to get busy around here...or is it one of those places that's different every night?" She asked as they reached the dressing rooms, it all seemed clean and well organised, quite different from some of the dives she had danced in when she had started out. She leant against the doorframe slightly, her hands behind her back as she once again let her eyes rove across Vincent's tall frame.
"So, are there other Humans here too?" She wanted to add 'and are they all as cute as you' but thought better of it. Flirting with the manager could be a good move or a fatal one when trying to secure a job.

Vince smiled, nodding to both Larry and Shadow, wincing slightly as Shadow yelled. Then the door closed behind them. He smiled, then nodded at Champagne's question. "Yes, there are other humans working here. For some reason, the Furry guys like human girls. I dunno why, sometimes. I think Furries are more erotic. For instance, I look forward to seeing you dance. You're very attractive. Well, let's see if any of the girls are here yet, shall we? They usually come in from the back entrance." He smiled, and led her into the dressing rooms. Seeing no one, he sighed. "I think we're going to be late. Usually the girls are here early."

Tai grinned, then nodded to Larry. "I'll see about getting this hooked back up right away." He took the camera, and headed off to hook it up, stopping long enough to wink at Shadow. "The women all seem to like the music man."

Shadow shrugged slightly at having the door shut on him and Larry before a proper introduction could be made. He rolled his yellow eyes and shook his head with a smirk.

"The women all seem to like the music man."

"Can't say I blame 'em," Shadow responded in his usual boisterous voice. "Why do you think I do magic? I'm just another skinny short guy, so I need some kind of edge to compete with Vince's genetic gifts and his music." He said it all with the same joking tone so that one could easily tell that he was genuinely complimenting his boss without talking bad of himself.

"Anyway, back to work. More tablehopping to take care of."

With a wave, Shadow bounded off back to work. He managed to keep a large table of wolf furries occupied for a minute with one of his card routines that started with producing a black and silver finished deck in a flash of fire.

He was extremely good at what he did, and took pride in his work. Though it seemed kind of stupid to be a house magician at a strip club, he was paid well for keeping the customers happy between sets from the dancers. He was also an experienced gambler and used that to draw more business to the club.

The only trouble was being single and working at a place with such a strong look but don't touch unwritten rule. He flirted with the dancers casually, but knew better than to overstep his boundaries. Ah well. It was still a cushy job nonetheless.

Larry watched Tai go off, then sat down at the bar and mused out loud to himelf. "I wonder if she'd be interested in...Nah, she's outta my league. 'Sides, dating your co-workers never ends well."

He turned to watch Shadow amuse the other patrons as he grabbed a can of Coke from behind the bar, snapping it open and deciding to just relax a while, before it got really busy.

OOC: Apologies for the bartender mix-up, man.

"Well, perhaps I should see if there are any costumes lying around here that might fit me and then at least you can have one dancer ready to go on stage even if the other girls are a little late...?" She suggested in what might have been a coy fashion had it not been for the knowing glint in her honeyed gaze. "After all, I know that at least you want to see me dance..."

Vince raised an eyebrow, then considered for a moment. He could let her go onstage, even though most of the guys and girls that were in the audience were here to see some of the other girls. Then he realized that he should probably have her do a sort of screen test. "Well, it might be a better idea for you to give me a preview. A screen test, of sorts. You don't mind, do you?" He smiled, looking into her eyes.

"Not at all..." Champagne returned his smile, pushing up off of the door frame and moving towards him slightly. "Shall I do it here...or...did you want to go somewhere a little more private...?" She ran a hand through her long hair and then allowed her fingers to trail around the base of her neck and down the front of her chest slightly.

Vincent considered, his eyes lingering on Champagne's body, then smiled. "We'll use one of the private rooms." He pulled a keyring out of his pocket. Then he headed over to a row of rooms. He smiled again, then motioned her over, as he put the key in the lock. He unlocked the room, turned on the In Use light, and held the door open for her.
