This is an open RP for those interested in playing different graduates returning to a small, coastal Maine town for their high school reunion. Let's make it the tenth anniversary of graduation. The class of '02.

Bert Hammer came from a family of lobstermen several generations back, but he was in a different line of work. He had risen up the ranks of broadcasting to be a real shock jock with a lot of local celebrity. But he still worried that to the jerks of his old class, he'd be nothing but an "audio-visual nerd". He remembered his favorite teachers, who'd all gotten older.

He also remembered Alicia. Fucking Alicia Boyd....he never slept with her, but she visited many of his dreams and made him cum. He wondered what became of her....and then he saw her again. She looked a lot different now, but even sexier than before.

And there was Ms. Wilton. That cougar had slept with him the day after he graduated, when he was not only an adult but no longer her student. Clever woman. She insisted that he call her "Hillary", but that wasn't easy for him. She was fifty now, but still a seriously sensual woman.

Ashley Chilton remembered Bert Hammer. She recalled a time when she was 16 and he asked her to prom. She always suspected he was gay, and the invitation surprised her. But because he was such an outcast from her own crowd, she told him no and went instead with Jeremiah Mayfield, the quarterback of her school's rival team, the crosstown Winnesakeh High Terrapins. She never regretted the decision. What she did regret was staying in this awful coastal village after high school. Spending good years working at the local boat club as a waitress, she met and married an older man who had worked on his father's fishing boats. But at thirty-three, while she was only twenty-four, he had drown in a fishing accident during crab season. Now, she remained a young widow, never meeting anyone else to her liking and longing to leave town. Bert Hammer wasn't who she imagined. But perhaps he'd do for now. She let the thought go and ordered a drink from the bar where the opening night gathering of the class of 2002 was being held, and sat down. She checked out some of the people milling about, saying hi to some as they passed, hoping the seat beside her might be filled with someone intriguing. She wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't, but she would wait and see.

Damon Spencer smiled as he stepped into the small bar. "Hey girl!" He said, noticing immediately a friend from years ago. He had always had a thing for Ashley, but nothing had come of it. He gave her a hug before looking over her shoulder and seeing another classmate. "Hammer is that you?!" He smiled again. He had always known Bert as just "Hammer." He was a mousy kid, compared to Damon, who had played three sports before being drafted into major league baseball before blowing his knee out sliding into second while a third year guy, struggling in the minor leagues with the Centerville Anglers. "How are you, man?" He asked, before turning attention back to the pretty blonde then looking around at others he vaguely recognized, all milling about. "Looks like a decent crowd. I figured most people wouldn't be here until tomorrow."

Katherine Holmes stepped into the small bar, surveying who was there as she made her way to order a gin and tonic.

"The Hammer" was there, looking dashing as ever. She'd have to see how he is.

Ashley was there, she made a mental note to go say hi to her.

Damon Spencer was there, mm, yes. She had a bit of crush on him since sophomore year.

At twenty seven, Kat was finishing up her Master's degree in psychology, and was debating on where to go for her doctorate, and which branch she'd like.

After receiving her high school diploma, she did two years at a community college, and two at a university, she enlisted into the United States Marines, serving and receiving up to her RN as a nurse. She completed a tour over in Iraq, which invalided her as her contract expired. Funny how things work.

Even now, she carried a military bearing, her hair cut much shorter than the long golden locks that she was known for, and she went over to a seat, trying to conceal the black and silver cane that she had to use, wearing jeans and a Marines T-shirt. She relaxed and propped her bad knee up as she swished her drink in her mouth.

Ashley watched the door as people came and went. Some faces looked familiar, others not so much. She noticed a woman in casual military attire come in and thought nothing of it, before trying to get Damon's attention back to where she needed it to be, on herself.

"Most people WON'T be here until tomorrow," she concurred. "So we need to have fun tonight," she said, with a grin, hoping he picked up on her suggestion.

"We will," Damon said. He leaaned over the bar and shouted to get the barkeep's attention. "I need a Newcastle, and send a beer to the marine," he said nodding across the room. He looked at Ashley again. "What kind of fun? Maybe some darts?" He said, teasing, clearly knowing what she meant and wondering if she was up for it.

Kat raised an eyebrow as the barkeep explained that someone had sent her the beer. She took a sip of the fresh off the tap Boston Lager with a nod of approval. She smiled when she figured that it was probably Damon, as he was now drinking a Newcastle.

She finished off her G&T before hoisting herself to her feet and limping over to Damon and Ashley.

"I'm surprised you didn't jump on me the moment I walked in, Ashley. It's Kat, you ditz," she teased affectionately, taking another sip of her beer.

Bert grinned as he saw Ashley and Kat....both very nice women. Very attractive, Kat being somewhat more Amazonian in her style, with the whole Marine outfit. She was very fit and hot to him. He remembered what a smart girl she always was, but she did seem to have trouble walking normally.

Bert then offered a handshake to Damon, "It's me. I am The Hammer now, on W-XYZ in Bangor, of course, but I guess that I'll always be an AV geek here. How's it hanging?"

Smiling at Kat, he added, "Semper Fi, I see. Good for you. Was in the Air Force myself for a while. No surprises there, I guess. I always did like to fool with electronics. When your next round comes up, I'll buy you one myself. Didn't see combat myself, of course. Thanks for doing that. What are you doing these days?"

"Oh my god, Kat! I didn't recognize you!" Ashley squealed as she kept from the stool to give her old friend a hug. "Your hair is so short!" She noticed Kat's limp and said nothing, not knowing how it would sound. She watched with a smile as Bert approached them all, even catching his eye and holding his glance with hers a brief second too long, by design. Bert greeted the others and Ashley's eyes went wide for a second.

"You're THE hammer? On the radio?" She asked, a bit more intrigued. "I didn't know this!" She turned to grab her drink from the bar, hoping the boys noticed her best features were still largely intact from ten years ago. "That's really awesome," she smiled at him with a sip of her drink.

Bert "The Hammer" Hammer

"Yes, I am that guy. Hard to believe, isn't it?" Bert blushed a bit. He remembered being turned down by Ashley, right after getting a little liquid courage in him.

"Care for a drink, on me?" Bert asked.

"What are you doing these days, Ash? How is the old gang? Yours, I mean, not mine. I can account for both of my old friends. One's a Congressman, the other is doing 25 years in a mini-max for hacking the Feds."

Bert couldn't help but wonder what else might surprise him, just as he had surprised her.

"Just," she paused, uneasy, "not very much here." She didn't lie. "I pretty much wait tables and have recently started some real estate classes. I also teach yoga two nights a week." She thought about her crew, as he mentioned. He gave him the rundown how most of the girls she knew back then had married and moved away and how a number of the boys had married them and gone too. She thought she knew the guy in jail and said as much. She looked to change the subject. "You look great though." She didn't lie, and his job and connections intrigued her as well.

Bert "The Hammer" Hammer

"Thanks, I try. I see....well, I must admit that I had a huge crush on you in high school. Hard to know what to expect, of course. Been focused on my career, of course. No reason not to. I'm a fairly boring person, aside from the occasional fling or so and my weekly Dungeons and Dragons game. Such a fucking nerd. But that's not my schtick, of course. Everyone has to have a schtick in my line of work," Bert admitted.

"Do you remember Mrs. Wilton, by the way?" Bert grinned at that memory.

Ashley batted her eyes a bit at the mention of his crush on her. She wondered if she were cute enough to so captivate him, or another, still. And she did remember Ms. Wilton.

"Yeah," she said, flipping her hair a bit. "What about her? Is she here?"

Bert "The Hammer" Hammer

"Over there, by the records. I fucked her, you know. Day after graduation. She took my virginity. Wanted me to call her Hillary for some reason. Still not bad for her age these days, given she's in her 50s. What about you? Ever do the May-December deal?

"Or is someone closer to your age more what you prefer? I remember how many teachers had hard-ons for you in class. Poor Mr. DiFazio, remember him? You let him see more of your cleavage than anyone else. He probably wore out his hands jerking off for you," Bert chuckled, "bet that he still would. You're still a cutie. You and Kat both, but in different ways."

"Oh my gosh!" Ashley squealed at Bert's story. "Oh my gosh!!!" She squealed louder at the thought of Mr. DiFazio. Though she admitted freely using her better features where it could help her out. And she HAD tried the May-December thing, as he'd called it.

"One time," she said. "I dated a guy that owned Clio's Spaghetti Pasteria when I worked there. I was 18. He was like, 45." She blushed again. "Wait, twice. I also once met a guy online, but...." Her voice trailed off, not wanting to talk more about that time. She flipped her hair again when he called her cute. She always appreciated a guy who appreciated her, though she sized him up and wondered if he could even approach her type. She wasn't forceful, and she expected her man to show her what she was his for. She was intrigued. She knew Damon could satisfy. But Bert, well....something caught her in her core and she felt a little quiver from deep inside, a curiosity that she felt she'd like to explore.

Bert "The Hammer" Hammer

"Mr. Clemente, yeah, I recall him. I fucked his daughter Marisa for about a week during leave back from the Air Force, right after basic. Only the second person I had ever screwed in my life. You know, the one that they kept claiming was a Mafia princess, just because she was from Palermo?" Bert chuckled, "I'm banned from that ristorante for life, by the way. All for diddling his daughter and not marrying her, corrupting her, you know. I got news for him. She was a wild child, even then. She sneaks me food from there now and then, anyway, whenever she wants some more Hammer."

"Here, barkeep, next round for Kat and Damon, both on me," Bert offered.

"Care to find out why I'm called The Hammer?" Bert asked Ashley, somewhat curious as to how she would take it.

Kat laughed and hugged her friend back, keeping a hand on her cane. "Yeah, had to make it comply with military standards. Used to be buzzed. I got tired of braid bun-ing it. You're looking healthy! What's up with you? I heard your husband passed. I would've made it to the funereal, but I was finishing up BCT and couldn't."

Kat did a mock salute to Bert with her mug of beer. "Yeah, I saw a bit of combat, was a combat nurse. Got my knee blown out by an AK-47 from the enemy, trying to help some poor lad make it back home. He did make it, and from what I heard, is serving a tour in Korea. I am actually finishing up my Master's, graduate in the spring. GI Bill goes a long way, and when you have a few medals to your name after a four year stint, yeah. Helps with the hospital bills too."

She found a few of her old friends and limped off to go say her hellos to them.

She felt for Kat as she told her story and wondered if she heard Bert correctly when he leaned over the bar. "It's just your last name isn't it?" She asked him, sipping her drink and pulling herself back on the barstool facing the people now somewhat surrounding her.

Kat received another beer and she raised it over at the Hammer's way before making her way over to Damon. "Hey there, stranger, you didn't say hello," she teased, taking a sip. "So what are you up to nowadays?"

Bert "The Hammer" Hammer

"Glad that he made it home and you got through school. Good for you. Very good to see you again. I'm a shock jock on radio now. The Hammer, in fact, W-XYZ in Bangor," Bert hugged Kat a little before turning back to Ashley, "Yes, it's my name, among other reasons."

"Still like Sam Adams, I see," Bert said, downing some Irish car bombs, "very good to see all of you."

"I'm running a consulting firm, training executives in crisis communications. Started that after burning out of baseball and finishing college. Nothing like war," Damon said. "But I shredded this one," he tapped his right thigh over his knee. He nodded his head back to where Bert and Ashley were, at the bar. "Ash looks great, doesn't she?" He asked, taking a long pull from his beer.

Bert "The Hammer" Hammer

"Yes, she does. Both ladies do. To old times, right?" Bert raised a toast with his Guinness and his Jameson.

"Sad to hear about your knee, man. Glad that you found a new niche, though," Bert added.

"I do like Sam Adams," Ashley said. She smirked a skeptical smirk. "But tell me...what other reasons?" She brushed her hair behind her ear on one side, revealing her neck and knowingly appearing both interested and coy.

Kat smiled and raised her lager in the air. "It's the good stuff, Bert."

She nodded in sympathy to Damon. "How long did you have to do physio?" she asked as she took a long drink from her lager. She moved to sit down on a stool, resting her cane on the bar.

A slow, mischievous grin slid onto her face as she thought about old times. "Who remembers the time I got into a fight with Tony Markinson during gym?" she asked.

Bert "The Hammer" Hammer

Bert chuckled at that one, "You kicked his ass for calling you a dyke. Yeah, I remember that. What a jerk that guy was. Punk is currently working as a corrections officer at the state prison. Hasn't changed much at all, though. Still an asshat."

"Other reasons....well, I shouldn't talk about them in mixed company," Bert winked at both ladies.
