This is pseudo-science, plain and simple. For one, correlation is not causality. Correlation is not causality. CORRELATION IS NOT CAUSALITY.

There are definitely health benefits of not eating too much meat, red meat in particular. But I'm way way way skeptical of this study's claims. For one, being vegetarian is an expensive lifestyle, either in terms of time or money. So the people that practice it tend to be affluent, upper middle class people... people who as a group score better on IQ tests.

So there probably is a correlation between being vegetarian and IQ. But it's the deeper sociological factors that are causing both.

Well...I have family and friends that one might hear racist-sounding statements from...not because of skin color or other differences in physical characteristics...but because they were directly affected by "institutional racism" which caused them to be passed over for jobs/promotions. Because these issues got to be so problematic (unfair to blacks/other minorities) that the gov't stepped in to mandate fairness somehow, these people I know suffered unfair consequences themselves causing them to resent the "special treatment" they saw. To me, this is not "racism" and this needs to be separated out when deciding whether someone is truly "racist" or not.

My words on many things have been so misjudged by so many here at times that I realize this even more and will not make anyone else's definition mine unless I am certain I agree with it. So I ask questions, watch replies, and try to read things posted from the past to get a better sense of what's up...and I believe that is worthwhile. When someone avoids answering direct questions, that is an answer in and of itself to me. Yanno? So, slowly but surely I come to my opinions on each accused on both sides. The trollfests only make that more tedious...but tediousness has rarely dissuaded me from pursuing my objectives in understanding another human being.
