I'm new to Literotica and wanted to say hello. I've enjoyed reading a lot of your stories over the past year or so and have decided to try my hand at it.

Any advice? :)

Hi, LKS

Welcome to the AH.

Advice... write, read, write... stick it away for a few days... read and re-write.

Check out stories on the top lists, see how others write, check out the advice threads.

Good Luck.

Thank you, neon. I've been reading a lot lately. I hadn't thought about the top lists though. That's a good idea. :)

Thank you, rg!!!

(What do you mean though?)
I was being funny. Offering stock advice instead of writing advice. ;)

As far as writing advice goes I can't really offer any until I've seen what you've written. One thing I will say, don't try to write like anybody else. Write like you.

Welcome. :rose:

Rob's pulling your leg. You asked about advice, without specifying "advice about writing." ;)

Expect to be teased a lot around here as the "newbie." Enjoy.

Advice... hmmm... have fun, don't take it seriously, stay out of political threads unless you have a thick skin... if you don't have a thick skin, work on developing one... get a second set of eyes on your story before posting it and yet don't expect that to fix anything. Good Luck :rose:

Welcome to the Authors' Hangout (AH). Only pay attention to half of what anyone says. The other half will make sense in time.

If you intend to write stories, post a thread in the Editor Forum when you finish one. You'll find some kindly folks who will help you make the story better.

Do lots of reading. Read all of the FAQs and browse through the Writer's Resource section. There are lots of good resources already available here.

Most stories post about seven days after you submit them.

Once your's posts, you can post a request for feedback (with a link, please) to the Story Feedback forum, where you'll find an honest bunch who will share their thoughts.

Lurk a lot and get a feel for the place.

Thank you, again, rg. I guess I should've realized you were joking. I'm a little bit nervous. :(

Can I read something of yours? What would you recommend?

Thank you, Magica. I have no intention of getting involved in politics.

I think that is good advice about getting a second pair of eyes, especially since I haven't written before. I'll remember it. Thanks, again. :)

I think I read something of yours a while back. Wait. Let me look. ;)

Thanks again, rg.

BTW, how did you do that? I mean, put what I said at the top of your post.

I will check those stories out later for sure. Right now I have to sign off for a while. Bye!! :)

Welcome! :rose:

(Love your name!)

Read Rob's Librarian, yes.

Very yummy.

At the bottom right of every message are three buttons. The one to the left says Quote. Click it and that quote will appear at the top of the message screen.

There's two ways to do that, Lick.

At the bottom of each post is a button labeled 'Quote', the one on the left. You can click on that and it will call up a screen with the post quoted.

The other way is to click on the button with the bent arrow in it, the one on the right. If you click on that it will take you to an entry screen at the bottom of the page. Once there, if you click on the 'Quote message in reply?' checkbox, the post will be quoted.

The first way give you more power, the second is quicker.

You're welcome. :)

Hi there, and welcome aboard!

Only advice I can give is to just have fun and enjoy what you write!

Welcome to Lit. It takes 5-10 days to post something after you've submitted it. Don't ever bring that subject up again and you'll be just fine.

Keep on posting. When you get to a hundred posts, you get your own avatar (the picture in the corner).

Like you guys weren't thinking the same thing.
