welcome, untroubled. There are lots of nice people here and probably some not so nice ones as well. Kind of like the real world. And, like in the real world, you will need to keep your eyes open and decide for yourself who you think is a straight shooter, and who is full of shit. It will become pretty obvious pretty quickly.

as far as stories go, it's hard to say, it really depends on what you're into.
