Hi ~ How are you?

I ask people how they are and genuinely mean it but I have frequently noticed in our society that it is polite for people to say how are you. Sometimes I watch their face or body language, do they seem truly interested or just being polite.
And why even when we are having a bad day or things are just plain 'crappy' do most of us say fine thanks?
If I am in a perverse mood I think to myself, what would the person say if I told them the truth?
*My dog died after eating my cooking
*The man behind me at the supermarket smelt so bad that I almost tossed my cookies
*I put salt in my morning coffee instead of sugar
*I dropped the phone in the bath this morning when I rang my boss to say that I was sick.
*My best friend has just told me that she wants to experiment in her sex life and that she hoped I would oblige her in sharing some intimate moments with her husband (YUKKY!) (ugh way too much information for someone 'straitlaced' like me :p )
*The kitten peed in my hubands best shoes and pooed in the lounge somewhere (I can't find where phew!!!)
(totally kidding!)
So yeah we are all probably dishonest! Remember this next time someone asks how you are! Try telling them the truth or a bunch of made up stuff and see how they react. :D :p :D

Being a People Greeter, I'm required to ask that. I genuinely mean it. Besides the anal warts, how are you?:) That goes for everyone.
