Rasmussen's poll is correct. They obtain 500 responses of likely voters between a combination of landline calls and online survey each night. They use a rolling three day average.

Gallop is also correct. Their samples are based on a broader survey though. It uses the entire voting age population. But it also includes cell phones which Rasmussen doesn't. Their sample tends to be a younger, less wealthy, and also less likely to vote than that of Rasmussen's sample.

But for the groups they measure, they are accurate.
