Would you die for any cause other that your own, or your families - (hey, you got a family or have you been ostracized?) - a "group cause" involving a coalition of people, many of whom you don't know and might even be very different from?

Would'ya, huh, would'ya?

What one?

Sweety pie......

You know.......

I don't even look in that corner of the screen.

PS babe.....

You know and you do know too.....

That I don't know how.

And other than some othe cases - which you know about - in this case I don't care to know - so no tellin' please.

It's not what Sparky is all about.

PS twice.....

I still don't know how to put up the "quotes." And forgot how to be a guest/troll/interloper.

As long as I can successfully communicate with as few spelling errors or typos as I can.....

I'm happy.

Sparky, if you know what you want your title to be, email Laurel at info@literotica.com and she will change it.

If you don't have one, we will be forced to pick one for you. ;)

I'm leaning toward Swizzle Stick (I'm only kidding).

Well then, it's just......

out of my control then.

Name away minions of the dark!!!

Hah!

I can't go against my own personal beliefs and philosophies - I just can't.

But, but, but - for an excellent......

BLOW JOB!

I'd consider it.

I will give it some thought.

The title, not the blow job (unless you are REALLY nice to me, then maybe)

Er, what's this thread about..?

I seem to have forgotten what this thread is about--let me just check...

...okay. Sparky, no matter what cause I may take up, whether it be for myself, for my family, or for a group of people I don't know, if I believed strongly in the cause itself then I'd be willing to die...as long as I knew that my death served a purpose (no point in dying uselessly). Whether or not I care 'bout the other people in the group has nothing to do with willingness to die for that cause. (A bodyguard may be morally offended by the person he/she/it protects, but they may still be willing to die should they believe that it's important to protect that person for some other reason--say if the person is a president of a nation, or something.)

Besides, once any cause is taken up by any given person, it becomes a cause for themselves. So it may simply be a question of willing to die for your own beliefs. Those other people serving the cause are just incidentals.

Yeah, sorry knuck head.....

The Kitten babe got me off the subject and this thread was designed to bring out Uncle Bill, uber Libertarian and get his opinion on the question.

Thanks for your response.

A bodyguard is usually doing a job - usually contracted. Not what I'm talking about.

Idealism is what I'm talking about - giving your life for any ideal - one you understand and value - yet is intangible. You can't touch it, fell it.

You love it - you love this ideal enough to die for.

My ideal, the one I'd die for is people, it could be any person, or any group of people at any given time - but if I ever get into a situation where I might die - it would most likely be fore - people pretty much like me - other people that might give their life for me if circumstances reversed our fateful roles.

Don't know if that makes much sense.

Essentially - it's what Jesus did. Now - know this - I ain't on Jesus freak by a long, long shot. But to me - the "character" of Jesus, even if it's a myth - is an example of what "good" is all about.

I like to use him as an example on which to base my philosophy. Be he real or not.

And yes - I would do as he - give my live for others - to provide an example.

I'm always curious - in this age of selfishness - who would also do what I would do - or not.
