rudey is my dancing avatar and he has spent all weekend dancing and partying at the carnival , he said that sunday [family day]was a little quieter than usual because of the rain , but monday was fantastic , crowds were down 50% to around a million or so , partly due to the weather which fortunately stayed dry and sunny , but mainly to the fact that this year the 3 big sound stages were absent because of the threat of trouble.
the sound stages mainly play reggae and rap/hip hop and attract huge numbers , the carnival procession is more soca/calypso and steel band music with huge floats and thousands of masquerade dancers in bright elaborate costumes . he promises that after a good nights rest he will be back tomorrow . he has missed you all and hopes to see you all soon
