I personally think divulging what someone has PRIVATE messaged you is not ok at all. Ever. You could have messaged Laurel back and no one would have been any the wiser.

You were not "demoted". Lit Moderators are not "superior" to normal users - they are people who are (very nicely) volunteering to help move spam off the board. As you may have noticed, Mods have no special powers, no extra features, no private lounge, no fruit baskets, no pedicures. Not even a t-shirt.
