Hey Laurel! No, really, I have a real question.

This.

Weird Harold always has the answers.

Unless the OP wanted to look for a user number range from 1234 to 2980.

Finding one by changing 'xxxxx" to "yiyyyyyy" could take years if you do not know the number, name or range for the poster you remember.

Remember, we're dealing with queersetti - an aging man who probably is only able to remember pieces and parts of various things in his past. To him, they're immediate and current, but he can't put the faces with the names.

What we need is a way to search for: User Number between "xxxxxxx" and "yyyyyyy".

And we need more than 200 results.

And we need to be able to search for Posts between "mmm, ddd, yyyy" and MMM, DDD, YYYY".

And I need a chicken salad sandwich, some tea, and a cookie if you please.

And a foot massage.

that's all.

for now.

Are you sure?

How about a fuzzy lap blanket?

The trick only works if you know the usernumber you're looking for. It can't "search" a range of numbers or a range of dates, or anything else, because it doesn't "search" for anything; the usernumber is a unique index into a data file and skips past any "searching" to go direct to the information you want.

there is no "xxxx" in the syntax, I just redacted the usernumber I copied the link from.

http://forum.literotica.com/member.php?u=459043 will turn up your profile and none other. If I change the "459043" to "531" it turns up my profile. http://forum.literotica.com/member.php?u=531

I quite understand what you did, but it is quite unpractical if you do not know the user's number. If I already know the number, why search? Just enter the URL and "TADA". I don't even know my own user number and since it's in the six digit zone unlike yours it would be more than I wish to remember anyway.

I want Laurel to institute a true search by range, dates, post quality, shoe size and whether I liked them or not. Today I want a puppy, my hair done and instead of the chicken salad, I'd prefer a simple bit of apple butter on a muffin with my tea and cookie.

Ok. A fuzzy blanket too.

And a kitten?

Rats! I just got you a kitten.

Most people don't pay attention to the URL they're clicking on. :p

Yours is 534649 FWIW. :p
Cool!

If you have a number, just copy the link to any profile from any post header -- http://forum.literotica.com/member.php?u=xxxxxxxx change the "xxxxxxxx" to the number you want to look up and viola.

ETA: any of the links in the pull-down menu under the username in a post's headers are referenced by user number if you'd rather not detour through the member's profile to get those functions.

Thanks Harold.

I wish I could remember why I wanted to know.
