Actually, Nesmith hasn't joined them on any of their "reunion" tours. He played a couple of shows, but other than that, hasn't had anything really to do with it. I saw them on one of the tours & actually enjoyed it. I love the show....have them on DVD & watch them with my neices & nephews. They think they're funny still, which isn't bad for a show over 40 years old!

HEY, hey, THE MONKEES' reunion tour is hitting the skids before it has even started.

Only three members of the original band - DAVY JONES, MICKY DOLENZ and PETER TORK - are on the tour, which kicks off in Liverpool on May 12. MIKE NESMITH, who inherited a multi-million-dollar fortune from his inventor mother, refused to join the reunion. Sounds like a wise move.

I kind of hate to date myself, but I saw the Monkees while I was in high school, minus Nesmith. Not sure what his reason was at the time. Fun show though.

They were fun and people can laugh all they want but you still hear their songs today.

He doesn't need the money. She invented white-out. You'd just about need a super computer to calculate how many of those little bottles etc have been sold over the years.

Which is a pity, because I thought he was the most musically talented member of the group.

I'd go see the show if it was near me. The Monkees had the best songwriters available, really great stuff.

Didn't they do areunion tour in the 80s?

Maybe it's about dignity. Maybe he's seen too many boomer bands doing reunion tours tarnishing their own legacies because they've lost their looks and voices to unhealthy lifestyles, and promised himself NEVER.

Maybe he wants to remember those screaming teens as they were rather than as they are today. Or maybe he knows he'd resort to physical violence if he ever saw somebody else again? Who knows ?

They did do a reunion tour in the 80's. My friend dragged me to it. There were other partial bands as well, from the same time period. I can't remember who anymore, though. It was still fun singing along to the songs, and surprising how many lyrics we still remembered.
