Has it really come down to the fact that each av "belongs" to someone??

The only one that I would ever consider to be mine would be the happy face thong one...but that one stays with *brat*...and if I am not using it...I would never even consider telling someone else not to use it.

well, all of the avitars i have used are mine... but they're pictures of me so if anyone else used them i'd be more than a little miffed.

as for the other art i'd say that using a pic someone else has used in the past can be confusing but there's nothing really wrong with it.

Thanks- I wanted to ask you if you minded me using his art, since I know that you often use them for your avs, but you weren't on when I switched. I figured that this wouldn't be one that would choose, as it seems you typically pick females with short hair.

LOL... of course not, I have no copyright on Dave's work. He's pretty cool about that. His work can't be sold because it's all based on pictures from copyrighted photographs, so the more attention he gets, the more requests he'll get. He's also looking for models in the Seattle area. *hint hint*

Hi Chef . Don't Worry about Fowler he's moved on and thats probably why he's doin' good now "a change is as good as a rest" . They won today 3-0 Owen 2 and Anelka 1 and what I saw of the game those two could form one superb partnership .

So you never had a sketch of that tattoo before-hand? Wow. I draw tattoos for a local tattoo parlor, so I'm interested in this!

Yep there was no sketch for it before hand , it just came together and was amazin' seein' it happen in front of me . I'd seen a couple of tattoo's in the studio that I liked but not what I wanted I spoke to Joe (tattoo artist and friend) about what I wanted . So he used another design just to get the postion of the nose , mouth and eye's , then he added the outline of the curve's then coloured them in , so they was just the thick band of swirl's of the outline coloured the face itself just had the eye's mouth and nose no colour or shadin' at all then about 2 week's later I went back and he did the inner shadin' all the swirl's and line's on the chin around the eye's , nose and mouth , just sat me down and started tattooin' away and Voila that's what I got and I love it.

Hmm... I think i am really slow these days. Took me nearly 2 days to find this thread, and then, only cause it was recently replied to.

Yes, those lips are ones I have used, rather recently, in fact. It was after Christmas that I last used them. But, they are not mine, so while I can get a bit miffed that someone else is using them, she has every right, I suppose. One of my favorites, too. Hmm, oh well.

I have av's turned off right now. Got a slow ass dial up again, no more cable modem, and it takes forever for all of them to load, so I rarely see what anyone else has unless I check them specifically)

Just wanted to say that I love that Tattoo too, it's uniqueness is what makes it so good I think.

I also love the one he has on his other thigh, that's some pretty damn awesome work too, and with his permission I'll post the pic of it too. I love all the work he has done actually, the ones on his legs just make them all the more sexy

As Far as AV's go, most of the works you see on here actually "belong" to someone else in the first place, and I'm sure that none of us seek out permission to use them as AV's. Also some of us only visit on occasion anyway, so we don't see the random changing of AV's. The only way you can call it "YOURS" is if like Andrew, you post a pic of yourself.

Ok, if I modeled and did the av myself (and I have posted my pic as it before), then I would be very unhappy, I would tell the person, and explain that it was actually ME in that av, and to please not use it. I think most people here would be understanding enough to take it down. At least, I hope they would be.

Myst, if you model for your AV, then that is YOURS, it's a PART of you. No-one else has the right to use it.

However I would say that 85 - 90% of the AV's on here DO NOT "belong" to the people that use them.

Take the pic, model the pic, whatever, it's YOURS, use one you find from a site and it "belongs" to the person that took or designed that pic or photo.

Just because someone posts it as an AV it doesn't become "Theirs" exclusively.
